I love to see the temple

I love to see the Temple - Elijahtree.org

My fabulous friend, Jaime, is a convert to the church and has always wanted to go to Temple Square in Salt Lake City.  So, when she finally saw it for the first time her excitment couldn't be contained.  Luckily I captured it in this photo!  When I see her jump for joy at merely the sight of the temple, I'm reminded of how I should feel EVERYTIME I see and/or go to the temple.  This is a great reminder of the joy that comes from living a virtuous life going to the temple!

Who Can Find a Virtuous Woman

Rubies

I have recently been asked to sing at the funeral of a dear friend, and I want to share the music and the experience with you. She was my visiting teaching companion and a wonderful example of service and temple work. She befriended me from the start when I moved into my new ward in Hawai'i, and I grew to admire and love her dearly.

She planned her whole funeral service herself before her passing and she asked for a groups of mothers dressed in white to sing prelude hymns in parts:

2 Peter 1-3, Ladder-Day Saints

We began by having the Young Women recite the Young Women’s Theme. Then I asked the students to look for one of the values that Peter mentions in 2 Peter 1:1-4. Once they identified “divine nature”, I asked them to explain what it meant. It was surprising to them that they did not really understand what “divine […]

Personal Progress Values Classroom Banners - temple style

Our personal progress classroom temple banners fit on four pages or less. I created them to be used at New beginnings or when you are focusing on a particular value during the month; however, you'll find lots of uses for them at camp and other activities, I'm sure. Simply print out the pages, align the overlap, and tape for a beautiful classroom poster! Enjoy! Sample image:

YW Values (Printable)

As of late, I have become ga ga for vintage floral patterns. There is something just pretty and sweet about them. I decided to create the YW values with pretty florals. I plan on printing them off (enlarged copies) and posting them in the YW room for decoration. Feel free to use in your young womens and share! You can download for free here http://courtneyaitken.blogspot.com/2013/01/yw-values-vintage-style.html

Virtue Banner without Text

This image is from youth.lds.org. It features some Young Women and a leader in San Diego California raising their gold-colored banner of Virtue. I've eliminated the website's title text and adjusted the coloring to make it easier for you to use. Amy C says, " I was along on the hike, but am not in this photo. It was a wonderful experience. Each girl wrote on the banner their personal pledge to stand for virtue before the hike. Most of the girls could see the flag from their homes, far in the distance. They loved it!"
