Debra shared these marriage handouts. The quotes read “Marriage is perhaps the most vital of all decisions and has the most far reaching effects for it has to do not only with immediate happiness but eternal joys as well.” by Spencer W Kimball. The Salt Lake temple is on each handout. One is poster size and the other is 4 per page.

By LDS Scripture Teachings I continue to have questions from individuals asking essentially “Why evil?” This “problem of evil”, addressed in previous posts, may be helpful. I like the teaching of Spencer W. Kimball on this subject and am including his talk entitled “Tragedy or Destiny” here for future use. When we face the apparent tragedies of sorrow, suffering, […] Read More Read more here:: Tragedy or Destiny?
With St. Patrick’s Day just a few days away, I have been thinking a lot about luck and how to teach my children what “luck” really is. Is luck getting the right job at the right time? Is luck happening to win a raffle at a party? Is luck finding money on the ground, right when you need it? I guess each person can interpret these things in their own way, but many of them I feel are blessings that the Lord wants us to have.
“Luckily,” I came across this amazing quote from President Spencer W. Kimball that teaches us the truth about luck:
“Remember also that if you succeed, it isn’t because of luck. Success comes from faith and work and prayer and from constant righteous effort” (read talk here).
I love that in President Kimball’s description of luck, he focuses on us consistently doing the right things. I find that the “luckiest” times of my life are the times I am striving to be consistent in gospel living, which helps me to know even more that I am being blessed for my efforts. I can teach my children to be consistent in righteousness, to pray, and to trust that God will give them what they need as they are striving to live His will.
Despite my lack of strong belief in “luck,” I never hesitate to say, “Good luck!” to friends and family…but I usually add in, “I’m praying for you!” (Hey, can’t hurt to add a little luck and blessing both, eh?)
Happy St. Patrick’s day, my friends!
What are you doing with your family to celebrate St. Patrick’s day?

They are outlined drawings of each of the modern day prophets. You can get each of the prophets individually off of my website www.myctrring.com under clip art and prophet clip art (there is also a button for it on the home page). I also have an outline of the first presidency there. These would be great for in programs, announcements, or even as something for kids to color. Enjoy
This image accompanies the story at the beginning of LDS Young Women Manual 2: Lesson 34, Hold Fast to the Lord’s Standards, by Spencer W Kimball
Here is a handout I made to go with the Seminary lesson for Exodus 32. Following are the quotes, etc, that are included: IDOLATRY loving the creation more than the creator “Let us here observe, that three things are necessary in order that any rational and intelligent being may exercise faith in God unto life and salvation. “First, the idea that he actually exists. “Secondly, a correct idea of his…
Cami D. has shared the handouts she created for use with YW Manual 2. This one has a quote from the lesson by Spencer W. Kimball: “No matter what you read or hear, no matter what the differences of circumstances you observe in the lives of women about you, it is important for you Latter-day Saint women to understand that the Lord holds motherhood and mothers sacred and in the…
Laurel C. created this handout and then took it to her local Walmart where she had it printed on photopaper (5×7 inch) to give to her girls. The sketch of the girl came from ChristysClipart.com. The text reads, “You may know. You need not be in doubt. Study, Think, Pray, Do. Spencer W. Kimball”
Lesson The Second Coming I will come again (John 14:3). When Jesus died and was resurrected, He promised that He would come again. Have you ever wondered what that will be like? Jesus could not tell us when He would come, but the scriptures tell us that it will be a glorious event. He will be our King and Ruler. It will be a heavenly, happy time for us if…
The Lord gave me a temple to live within on earth. Once in Heaven I was spirit, but I left my home at birth. I’ll make my temple brighter; I’ll keep my spirit free. My body is the temple my Father gave to me. (Children’s Songbook, page 153.) This Primary song tells us that our bodies are temples that Heavenly Father has given us. The scriptures tell us this, too:…
Put the empty casserole dish on the table so that all the children can see it. Then tip the small bowl with sand in it upside down inside the casserole dish to make something like a small sand island in the dish. (Don’t worry if a little crumbles.) Place the medium size rock at the other end of the casserole dish. Then place a “house” on both the sand island…
