{Personal Progress} ‘Riesens’ To Do Personal Progress

By [email protected] (Sheena Perron) A few weeks ago as I was grocery shopping (down the candy aisle) I had an idea for a Personal Progress incentive. Have you ever tried ‘Riesens’? If not, they are delicious…just saying. This incentive that I am sharing today shares different reasons why Personal Progress is important and why we need to do it. I began by (eating the first entire bag of Riesens) thinking…

Alma 27-30

These past few days are the first I’ve felt I had both feet solidly undeneath me since November.  Just when I thought I was getting a grip, our family careened headlong into another crisis. The strain has just been so much.  I collapsed again into a deep depression with a short triggered relapse while Jared and I were on our trip to the Bahamas. Who knew you could be depressed…

New Beginnings And New Beehives

Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2014/01/new-beginnings-and-new-beehives.html We try and do something special during New Beginnings for the girls coming into the Young Women program. We give them boxes like these at the beginning of the evening, and explain that they are empty but they will be given things throughout the evening to place inside. As the girls explain their class statements and symbols during the program, they present the new Beehives with a…

Come Unto Christ

The 2014 Mutual Theme for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is “Come Unto Christ.” The theme is based on the scripture: “Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness” (Moroni 10:32).

My stake is focusing on “Hastening the Work” this year, and one of the things they continually mention is that they want each member in our stake to have a missionary experience. The experience doesn’t have to be baptizing someone, or even having a friend take discussions; they want each person to help someone come unto Christ. I am going to focus on helping the women I visit teach to come closer to Christ this month.

The youth theme this year is focusing on helping the youth to develop relationships with their Savior, and this includes helping friends and family to do the same. I am excited to see the youth in my ward and stake grow closer to Christ as they learn more about Him, obey the commandments, and deny themselves of all ungodliness and embrace lives of happiness, purity, and faithful living.

These two printables are more for the Young Women than the Young Men (probably a little too girly for those Deacons…), but they highlight the beauty and serenity that each Young Woman can feel as they come closer to the Savior of the world. I know that coming unto Christ is the best thing that each person can do, and I am grateful for the personal relationship I have with Him.

What are you doing this year to come unto Christ?

Come Unto Christ New Beginnings

Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2014/01/come-unto-christ-new-beginnings.html Our New Beginnings theme this year is, “Come Unto Christ: A Walk with the Savior through Personal Progress”. The evening’s inspiration comes from the article found in the January 2014 issue of the New Era. We’ve invited the Young Women and their families to attend, dressed in biblical attire, and to bring blankets to sit on. Our invitations have footprints crossing from the cover to the inside, marking…
