March Madness Form

This is the form that I’m using for March Madness this year in Seminary.  Students earn tickets each day during the month of March that they Zones compete against each other on Fridays for team point bonuses.  I think I will do 100 tickets for the team that wins first, 75 for second, 50 for third, and 25 for fourth. (I have four zones or teams.) My friend DeAnn gives…

Scripture Mastery Cards

Downloaded from: http://seminaryatsixam.blogspot.com/2013/03/scripture-mastery-cards.html I love interacting with other Seminary Teachers. This morning I attended our monthly Inservice Training and I always leave with new energy and so many great ideas from other teachers. Sometimes I grumble about giving up a Saturday morning for this meeting, but I quickly repent when I attend and feel the spirit as we are instructed  in this most important work of teaching the gospel to…

Stump The Panel

Downloaded from: http://seminarymoments.blogspot.com/2013/03/stump-panel.html It seems as if every year I ignore the front of the scripture mastery cards. I am so worried about having the students memorize the scripture mastery scriptures that I have lost sight of what really matters.  To me, if I can help them learn where to locate answers to questions they may have or a friend might ask, or how to apply it to their lives…

Romans 1-5

After the results of the Basic Doctrines Assessment, I’ve been looking for opportunities to help my students understand some gospel terms better.  The opportunity for covering salvation, justification, and grace has come up in the first part of Romans.  I’ve spent two days covering the first five chapters, and we will spread into a third day to finish talking about these important doctrinal concepts. I am using a handout called…

Downloaded from: http://seminarymoments.blogspot.com/2013/02/nt-acts-12-faith.html What is faith?Paul tells us in Hebrews 11:1 it is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things seen.  Alma declared that faith is not a perfect knowledge, rather if we have faith, we hope for things not seen but are true. (Alma 32:21) I passed out paper plates (because I have a lot of them) and had them draw a spiral then cut it…
