Basic Sewing – Burp Rags

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2013/02/basic-sewing-burp-rags.html This week for our class activity the girls learned to sew basic burp-rags (about 1/2 the size of a receiving blanket). I chose this project because it is VERY easy, as far as sewing goes. It also goes along with our theme for the month – Divine Nature – because I gave the girls the option to either give their completed project to someone who is having/has…

Personal Progress Values Classroom Banners – temple style

Our personal progress classroom temple banners fit on four pages or less. I created them to be used at New beginnings or when you are focusing on a particular value during the month; however, you’ll find lots of uses for them at camp and other activities, I’m sure. Simply print out the pages, align the overlap, and tape for a beautiful classroom poster! Enjoy! Sample image:

YW Values (Printable)

As of late, I have become ga ga for vintage floral patterns. There is something just pretty and sweet about them. I decided to create the YW values with pretty florals. I plan on printing them off (enlarged copies) and posting them in the YW room for decoration. Feel free to use in your young womens and share! You can download for free here http://courtneyaitken.blogspot.com/2013/01/yw-values-vintage-style.html

YW Value Temple Element – Divine Nature

This is based on the Inspire Logo I created for another project. I got “inspired” myself and realized that nearly all of the YW values have the letter ‘i’ in them. Those that don’t have letter ‘i’ were easy to implement, too. I hope it reminds leaders and young women that “as we strive the young women values … we will be prepared to make and keep sacred covenants, receive…

Have You Experienced This Mighty Change in your Hearts – devotional handout

I was asked to do a devotional for Golden Hour at YW girls’ camp. My topic was “Have You Experienced This Mighty Change in your Hearts”, as I recall. I used the video “Significant in Every Way” from the LDS Church’s New Era Videos You Tube Channel. The camp leaders had asked us to send the girls home with something to remember the devotional with, so I went to my…

YW Elements: Value Flowers on Ribbon

I created this element based on a freebie I found at Shabby Princess Scrapbooking. It is one of a series of upscale YW scrap elements I am creating for the Young Women portion of this website. This element features the YW value flower elements with a ribbon background and each value name beneath in font “Vivaldi”. With drop shadow. See all the LDS Digital Scrapbooking elements. If you make something…

A Royal Generation

This handout was made by another leader to accompany Young Women’s Manual 1, Lesson 29: The Second Coming. This leader glued little jewels on the crown as embellishments. You can download a similar crown clipart image I created here. This is the text: “My dear friends, you are a royal generation. You were preserved to come to the earth in this time for a special purpose. Not just a few…
