Jechelle S. shared this script she wrote that uses the American Idol format to teach Standards from For the Strength of Youth.

The script calls for 10 youth contestants who each teach about a different standard through their speeches. There are also the 3 adult judges and an announcer, and there's a place at the end for a Stake President or Bishop to speak. The contestants are:

It was submitted by Janine B who says, "I thought it would be a good idea to have the girls pick their value projects and write them somewhere where their parents would see them too. I printed these fridge magnets thinking that if their goals were on their refrigerators they would also be on their minds. So we printed these out on cardstock and put magnets on the back and passed them out at New Beginnings this year."

Brenda H. shared this script for a skit that uses the popular story The Wizard of Oz to teach about the virtues needed to attend the temple.

The entire script is written in rhyme, which would make it very easy to memorize. In addition to Wizard of Oz costumes, you'll need the following props:

* Bean Bag with signs for obstacle
* Temple Backdrop
* Sign that says (Path of Virtue with Young Women Torch)
* Balloons to represent the values
* Brain, Medal, Heart Necklace (big plastic heart on string)

Kim A. compiled several ideas to create this Standards Night activity idea. It uses a kryptonite object lesson to teach dating standards -- run, don't resist. It also includes a list of celestial dating rules said to have been passed out by President Hinckley by ywconnection.com. I have no way of verifying this claim, but have no special reason to doubt it either.

This cute skit uses Disney songs and fairy tales to teach principles of modesty. Submitted by the author, Lisa T. Hansen.

Here's what Lisa says about Modesty Matters:

This white dress card is for giving a handkerchief to someone who is preparing to attend the temple for the first time. It has a poem on the back that reads: Tuck this white handkerchief away, Then take it out to be used on a very special day, When you go to the temple to make covenants And receive your own Temple Endowment.

Marilynn M. shared this cute script for a New Beginnings activity. It is based on the book The Plain Princess and integrates each of the seven values in to the skit.

It's a Readers' Theater, so it's not necessary to memorize the parts (some of them are very long). There are 13 speaking parts.
