Come Back Seminary Mom!

I have added a new Seminary section to the website. I was looking for websites or blogs with Seminary information. There are pretty much none. I found a fantastic site named Seminary Class Notes and was excited! What a fantastic blog! And the handouts Seminary Mom was making were generic enough to be used for multiple applications across the church. Hooray! I started looking for contact information — couldn’t find…

No longer must we wait a month for the General Conference edition of The Ensign to come out to use the Conference messages. The Church’s Official YouTube channel, Mormon Messages, has all the talks from General Conference available for your use live right now: http://www.youtube.com/user/MormonMessages You can use these in your lessons, embed them on your website, or feature them in your blog entries. Duty to God finally catches up to Personal Progress

I was delighted to hear about the changes to the Duty to God program announced at the Priesthood session of General Conference this weekend. Here’s the video at Mormon Messages: Materials should be delivered to units worldwide in June, and use should begin immediately. First, learn about a gospel principle, and strive to gain a spiritual testimony about why it’s important. Then make a plan for how to implement that…

On Leaving Religion

So today I did some reading of the stories of some former members of the LDS church. I’m always interested to know what drives people from the Church. Many of the things they question or doubt are things that puzzle me, too. It’s always a little off-putting. I have served closely with human, imperfect leaders (and also was a human, imperfect RS president) who do things beyond their abilities. I’ve…

The reason you should link to the page where the file is located and not directly to the file is files are…

Website under construction

While I am creating a new theme for MormonShare — one that will be easier to navigate — the menus will be messed up. Please be patient! Something better is coming! I have improved several articles, brought back the more idiot proof sub-sub menus on the left side for RS and YW (Primary is yet to come), FIXED THE YW LESSON PAGES, and have added a couple of new articles….

Productivity

Ah — the sweet relief of feeling productive….. Today I cleaned rugs, put shelves in the closet and rearranged all the cleaning supplies, updated pricing for Crowning Jewel, paid Specialties, emailed the (new) Bishop, enlisted a new VTer, called my secretary and Ed counselor and a sick member, and have done a little on the website. And it’s not even 3PM! I’ve really gotten a good bit done this week,…

So tired.

One thing is clear — the website is not user-friendly enough. I spent most of last week working on making the nodes for story and image display better. Bunged out a thing for object lessons, too. Based on the incredibly poor user response to the site in terms of posting activity, it’s clear that I’ve got lots more to do. 4,000 users a day, and only 1-2 posts a week….
