Up2U Gum Tags For Personal Progress & Visiting Teaching

I am always on the look-out for new ways to get the YW excited to do Personal Progress. One day while we were at the grocery store I saw a pack of UP2U gum and had an idea for a Personal Progress treat.

{Sharing Time} We Believe In Being Honest.

IDENTIFY THE DOCTRINE(hearing a story and reciting a scripture): Tell a story about a child who tells another child about his fishing trip and greatly exaggerates the size of the fish he caught. Ask the children what the child did wrong and what he should have done. Invite the children to think of one of the Articles of Faith that would help them remember to tell the truth. Repeat together the beginning of the thirteenth article of faith (“We believe in being honest”).

{Come Follow Me} September 'come Follow Me' Handouts: Why Do We Fast?

Today I am sharing 2 printables that would be great for the 'Why Do We Fast' lesson that is part of this month's 'Come Follow Me' for the Youth. Just keep on reading to see what printables I'm sharing.
First...Is a two-sided handout with the scripture references from the lesson outline. The YW can look up each of the scriptures to learn more of why we fast.

15 Scriptures To Brighten Your Day

Today 2 of my 4 kiddos started another school year. Can I be honest....I was a little excited. :)I’m ready to get back on a schedule, for the craziness of summer to come to a close, for my home to stay somewhat clean for a few hours (remember, there are still 2 at home, haha).
Today I wanted to share a bookmark I created. I created this bookmark hoping that we could use it to help us through those days that we need a little happiness in our life.

If you have the mobile LDS Library app, you can see the new 2015 Outline for Sharing Time and Sacrament Meeting Presentation.  I haven't seen it on lds.org yet, but I would assume that it will be available there soon.

Alternate Arrangements Of 2014 Primary Program Songs

Here are a list of my favorite alternate arrangements of this year's songs.  I've only included those which I think could reasonably be adjusted for a primary choir.  Most of the arrangements below are free for church use, but please double check for copyright issues and clear your decisions with your Primary Presidency.  If you know of other arrangements, please let me know and I will add them!

He Sent His Son,
Sally DeFord with flute/violin

{Personal Progress} Integrity #1: S'mores Night

This summer I thought it would be fun to have S’mores for one of our Personal Progress nights. The only thing was I wasn’t sure how to incorporate S’mores into Personal Progress.I decided to look through my Personal Progress booklet and read through the experiences to see if I could come up with something.
As I read Integrity #1 I had an idea!

Back-To-School

Here are is a fun activity for back-to-school...I have posted this before, but this time I have adapted it to be done with this year's program songs.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Fill a backpack with various school supplies.  Attach the saying to each one.  Have a child choose an item from the backpack and then sing the corresponding song.
Glue Stick -  Stick to the Savior’s example like glue.  If you do so, you will always choose the right.  Song: "He Sent His Son" p. 37
