Young Women / Young Men Mutual Planning Scrabble Board

In my duties as Young Women secretary, I maintained our "Scrabble Board". It's a simple table to help keep Young Women and Young Men leaders on the same page regarding who is in charge of what activity during each month.

For our 5th Sunday combined

For our 5th Sunday combined with the young men; we had a seminary teacher teach about keeping our morals and values even in cyberspace. The way the cyber world takes the place of our real world, virtual friends take the place of real friends, texting and constant use of cyber-communication takes away from face to face conversations. If they come across something inappropriate or vulgar, they need to turn it off. If the cyber world causes them to not want to do homework, chores and other responsibilities, they need to limit amount of time spent doing it. He brought in a few studies that showed how adults and teens have lost friends/relationships/and even marriages because they are so immersed in the cyber world.
He started with a demonstration: asked a kid to come up, and asked him about school, friends, activities he likes to do; but every min. or so the teachers phone would beep and he'd say just a min. I have to take this, and send a text, or talk for a min. and hang up. After a few min. the teacher turned off the phone, and shared a thought: did you feel like I was paying attention to you? that I really cared what you were saying? how did you feel?
He did an awesome job! The youth really enjoyed it!
