EDITED by Jenny: This great scripture mastery tracking form has columns for each of the scripture mastery passages plus space for student names. It’s formatted to span 2 pages. Space for full classroom of students. I’ve added a PDF version for those who do not have Word. Thanks for sharing, Natalie!

This is a universal Book of Mormon scripture mastery poster for use in your Seminary classroom. This poster is different than what I’ve done before in that I am going by scripture mastery passage instead of student. Each scripture reference is represented by the text of the passage written on the “sealed” portion of a set of plates. Students will write their name on the blank area of a set…

This year I am putting all the Book of Mormon Scripture Mastery license plates on one post so none of you get confused. This is the all-on-one-sheet version in color and black and white. These are the new 2013 scripture mastery passages. As of this posting, I don’t have the images broken out individually. That takes a little time, and I won’t do it if you don’t need them individually. …

Here are some scripture mastery flash cards like the ones I made last year for New Testament. These Book of Mormon Classroom sized flashcards are formatted to print front to back on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. These have the updated scripture mastery passages for 2013. If your printer won’t print front to back, print the odd pages, feed the paper back in, and then print the even pages. I…

My son helped me make a set of online scrpture mastery flash cards using Quzlet. Before you ask, yes, these include the updated 2013 scripture mastery passages. The Book of Mormon scripture mastery sorting game has a list of the new scripture mastery passages for 2013 with either a quote from or the entire passage of a scripture mastery passage. Students match passages with the scripture reference. Simply cut along the dotted lines and match scripture mastery key phrases with each reference. In my class we only cut out the keyphrases, leaving the scripture references as one list…

Downloaded from: http://brosimonsays.wordpress.com/2013/04/30/james-1-5-disciples-with-gusto-live-life-in-crescendo/ To understand more about how this lesson you will need to read the excerpts that I have included at the end of the post from Grant C. Anderson, “Living a Life in Crescendo” (Religious Educator 5, no. 2 (2004): 19–27). I have edited his talk to include those parts that I felt are relevant to the students […]

Downloaded from: http://brosimonsays.wordpress.com/2013/04/30/james-1-2-doers-just-do/ This lesson goes really well this April’s Come Follow Me curriculum on the Restoration. We started off with some background on who James was (see Bible Dictionary, third entry under James and James, Epistle of) so that we could establish some “street cred” and determine the importance his writings may have. How does knowing that he was Christ’s brother (half-brother) […]

Today another Seminary teacher came to observe my classroom (more on that later), and she mentioned something that the kids had talked about in class yesterday: the scripture mastery passages have changed! I decided to take a quick look this afternoon before the kids get home to see what changes have been made. There are 8 changes to the Book of Mormon scripture mastery list as best I can tell….

Downloaded from: http://brosimonsays.wordpress.com/2013/04/28/hebrews-1-13-7-little-words-and-1-big-god/ I want to start out by giving credit to Back On The Floor Again for the idea for this lesson. I was able to do what I hope other’s do with my posts. That is, I was able to see what was done in their seminary class and tweak it to fit the needs of my students. I […]
