Hebrews 1-13, 7 Little Words And 1 Big God
Downloaded from: http://brosimonsays.wordpress.com/2013/04/28/hebrews-1-13-7-little-words-and-1-big-god/ I want to start out by giving credit to Back On The Floor Again for the idea for this lesson. I was able to do what I hope other’s do with my posts. That is, I was able to see what was done in their seminary class and tweak it to fit the needs of my students. I […]

Moses and Jesus Christ
Amy O says: “For Seminary I combined two charts in the OT manual, p. 67 and 106 comparing Moses and Jesus Christ. I made it pretty easy, giving first letters and number of letters in each word. It was good to go over it and discuss which miracles were being referred to. Hope you can use it on your site.” Thanks for sharing, Amy!
The prophets foretold that Jesus Christ would come to earth.
Many prophets foretold that Jesus Christ would come to earth. Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Noah, Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nephi, Lehi, Alma, Samuel the Lamanite, and many, many other prophets taught that Jesus Christ would come. In fact, all of the prophets testified of Christ. 3 Nephi 20:24 says “Verily I say unto you, yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have…

Leviticus 10 – Priesthood
I think today we learned some stuff that got us thinking. I hope some of it stuck, especially for our young Aaronic priesthood holders. On the board I wrote “Why is it important that priesthood ordinances be performed by those who are clean inside and outside?” and “What happens if a priesthood ordinance is done incorrectly?” First we read Leviticus 10:1-2. I explained what was happening. Mentioned what the word…

Prince of Egypt and Leviticus
Seminary was canceled on Thursday due to the extreme flooding in the area. Since I do my lessons based on the reading that the kids are doing, we ended up skipping Exodus 29. Leviticus 1, 3, 4:1-22 Friday’s lesson was on the symbolism of animal sacrifice in the Old Testament. The lessons in the manual were so boring I was dozing off studying them, so I made a little handout…

The…

Israelites in the Wilderness
I realized I was behind but wow….. 2 weeks! It’s been so long now that I can barely remember what I did for Exodus 14-15. My lesson outline literally has 2 sentences and two scripture references written down. That’s it. I know we started with having the kids write down something that was new or that stuck out to them in the passage. I focused my remarks on “Fear ye…

Moses
Here’s the lesson report for Monday – Thursday this week. Exodus 1-2 Today we began the story of Moses and the Exodus. I debated for a while whether or not to focus this lesson in on courageous women or courageous people. I went back and forth for several days trying to decide whether it would come off too feminazi to focus in on just the courageous women…. Eventually I decided…
