This handout was created by Shauna Millett to accompany a Stake Women’s Conference. The topic of her lesson was Raising a Family in Troubled Times. She put a special emphasis on comforting quotes from Church leaders regarding wayward children, and also kept the lesson upbeat by inviting sisters to discuss both challenges and blessings they experience by living in the Dispensation of the Fulness of Times.

This document has several quotes and instructions that I’ve collected from Teaching, No Greater Call, Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, and the BYU Women’s Conference Overcoming Roadblocks to Visiting Teaching exhibit. This would make a good handout at a VT convention. PDF or RTF (for you to edit in your word processor).

Even better than last year’s calendar, this calendar has Church history information, the birthdates of the latter-day prophets with thumbnail images, General conference dates, and major US holiday dates. I’m publishing this file as a PDF, Word .doc file, and .rtf file (which should open in any word processor) so that you can edit this file with your own information as needed. 12 pps.

I really wanted to get the young women just as excited as I am for conference. As a presidency, we decided to make and deliver these cute little reminders to the girls. We attached this short reminder to a package of pretzel M&M’s. It turned out really cute and the girls just loved them. It gives 3 quick suggestions how to MAKE the MOST out of your general conference experience….

I’m really excited about the new mutual theme for 2011: We Believe, the Thirteenth Article of Faith. Here’s an image I created to go with the theme. It was created to coordinate with my We Believe Theme Cards and We Believe Wristbands, so you can make custom handouts and t-shirts for your youth conference or other event that relate to the theme. If you need a written statement of copyright…

3 Nephi 5:24; D&C 110:11 And as surely as the Lord liveth, will he gather in from the four quarters of the earth all the remnant of the seed of Jacob, who are scattered abroad upon all the face of the earth. 3 Nephi 5:24 During the 1836 dedication of the Kirtland Temple, Joseph Smith prayed fervently for the gathering of Israel. Several days later Moses appeared in the Kirtland…

These magnets were given out as part of a stake Relief Society Women’s Conference. They are simple and inexpensive. They have the word “Remember” printed on polka-dotted scrapbooking paper that was glued to a glass bead using clear drying glue. Then a strong magnet was hot glued to the back of the paper to complete the magnets. Click on the links below for lots more Women’s Conference ideas.

This was a requested image for a single ink print job for a Youth Conference t-shirt. The file is big and should work for printing applications. You are welcome to use this image on any thing you do not intend to sell. Out of courtesy to me, please do not tamper with the URL on this image so that I receive credit for its creation.

I created this image, loosely based on the Gospel Art Picture Kit image Stilling the Storm. It has the text of the 2008 mutual theme, Steadfast and Immovable, in the top right corner and a copyright notice in the bottom left. It features the Savior standing steadfast and immovable despite the storms that surround him. This image is free for you to use on your youth conference or camp t-shirts,…

In Explaining Exemplars, you take a good example of something, like a general conference talk, and examine it to find why it was effective. Give pairs or small groups of students examples of good practice, and perhaps some examples of bad practice or examples containing a few common errors. They may have the same, or different exemplars. After examining and discussing it, each group critically appraises the exemplar to the…

Use LDS.org’s website to help students hear and read a talk. EXAMPLE: I asked the students if they had ever heard the story about “What have you done with my name?” Some had. I told them we’d watch a movie about names, and I asked them to listen for the role that commandments play in protecting our names. I put up What Have You Done with My Name by Elder…
