April Lessons – General Conference, Isaiah, Jeremiah

I just can’t do it all :) This blog is proof positive of that. The house has been cleaner, I’ve been making bread and cooking more often, spent the week of spring break working on the new website and keeping up with the kids’ stuff, but something had to give. Naturally, it was the blog, I suppose. General Conference I did do a review for general conference again this time….

Almost finished with Isaiah

After the lesson on Isaiah 29, suddenly the Isaiah lessons started going much more smoothly. I’m not sure why that lesson was so particularly hard, but it was. That’s the chapter with the scripture mastery in it. I think that I added that one to the reading list. Talk about difficult. Long story short, the visit ended with my son falling from a rope in the hayloft and a giant old metal pitchfork falling on top of him. Some ancestor of mine saved his life by bending up the tips of that pitchfork, and so he…

1 Samuel

I promised a friend that I’d blog about what I’m doing in Seminary for 1 Samuel, but I’ve been so busy….. Today I’m catching up, as usual. Report cards and catching up to 1 Samuel 16 This day I had a lot of material to cover because of getting back from the holiday after so many missed days. It was also report card day. Joy. I had the kids working…

Regional Seminary Inservice Report – Leading Discussions with Good Questions and Lesson Ideas

We had a regional inservice training the first weekend in January. In this area, Seminary and Institute teachers are invited to a Saturday training that lasts for several hours. This one went from 9 AM to 3 PM, and included lunch. Lunch was the best part :) Our meetings start off with a kind of a keynote address and then we get to choose courses from two sessions in the…
