    P.S. There is a really nifty little PDF handout in the LDS Clip Art section here on Mormon Share for Gifts of the Spirit! I forgot to mention it. My apologies to the author. ♥

    Good Luck with your 2010 lessons, everybody!

    My suggested approach to teaching RS/PH course of study in 2010:
    This week I met with our RS President to explore the course of study for next year. We both found that many of the lessons (with outlines) contained in the Latter-day Woman A&B manuals correlate with the new Gospel Principles and True to the Faith topics in these manuals. As an example, this past Sunday I taught a lesson on the “gift of the spirit” to correlated with ‘gift giving’ at Christmas. — After a little research, I found the topic and materials won’t be used until later in 2010.–How many of us remember all of the lessons from year to year? ;o)

    * Gospel Principles, Chapter 22, The Gifts of the Spirit
    * True to the Faith, Pg. 165, Spiritual Gifts
    * Latter-day Woman-B, Chapter 3, Gifts of the Spirit
    * http://www.lds.org: The Visiting Teacher, including the questions: Seeking the Best Gifts, Ensign, Jan. 1997

    I also like to provide a one page take-home hand out for our sisters and shut-ins. I created a one page, two-sided hand out using materials from the lesson available online that I can easily cut-and-paste from http://www.lds.org into an MS Word document.
    * Excerpts from The Visiting Teacher, including the questions: Seeking the Best Gifts, Ensign, Jan. 1997
    * True to the Faith, Spiritual Gifts, Pg. 165

    There you go! By the way, I found teaching the Gifts of the Spirit lesson to be very enlightening and a reminder of the spiritual gifts the Lord gives me to strengthen my calling and present lessons in accordance with Church standard and requirements. ♥
