If you can use the image as a starting point and then personalize it and alter it to be 20% or more different from the original it then becomes your own original art and you can use it as your logo.

I haven't had this exact experience, but we have had a number of weddings in which we wanted to include our all non-member extended family. My uncle and his children are very musical and they performed some beautiful spiritual pieces of music, and my aunt and her daughter are very good cooks so we invited them to be in charge of the cake. Maybe for the baptism, if your parents want to participate they could choose and read some scripture passages about Chirst and baptism, and share a thought about their faith in Christ. This is also something you can discuss with your bishop, he might have some good suggestions. Involving family in the important life events of our children, even when their beliefs differ from ours, can really enrich those events, and bring an increase of love, understanding and harmony to our families.

Use the "Copy Image" option instead and then use right-click again to "Paste" the image directly into the document you are working on, or open a new blank document, "Paste" it there, and then save that.

The new church Handbook no longer has the Primary Presidency speaking at baptisms. Our Stake Presidency has said no gift giving that day in order to focus on the ordinance (I believe I read this in the Handbook too). During the "Eight is Great" at the beginning of the year is when the Primary Presidency speaks and treats and gifts happen. We gave each child an embroidered CTR towel they can use that day but what you can do depends on your Ward budget. If you see a Ward where the Primary is still speaking at the baptism then they are following tradition and not the new Handbook guidelines. This is actually very freeing for the Primary President since she is responsible for so many programs during the year and if she has a baptism 1-2x a month like we do then she is having to prepare a talk/comments for each child which can get extremely time consuming and that's time she's not spending with her own family. We have a Primary of 150 children and I'm sure there are other Primary's in the same boat.

I wouldn't say I know more about it than you because only you know your childs particular needs. My daughter has had diabetes for 12 years and celiac for 4. If I were to say the best topics to go over for 72 hr kit would be the medication and her food. Clearly you can't put insulin in the kit on a shelf for a year, as it would go bad, so I suggest a checklist tag hanging on the outside of the kit (or backpack) that says to go get the insulin from the fridge. Make it big and obvious. All other supplies can go inside, needles, alcohol wipes, pump supplies, glucogon kit, medical I.D., doctor info, etc. As far as the food goes, we need shelf stable candy and juice boxes for recues in case of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) like smarties, or skittles, no chocolate as it has fats and won't rescue very fast. Add other snacks for stability with protein like nuts, seeds, canned tuna with gluten free crackers, GF oatmeal packets to just add water etc. in case she gets high out of stress, low glycemic foods are healthier anyways. Fritos and canned bean dip is a stress releiver for us cuz it's salty. More food for her than anyone else because she may not be able to eat what is at a public shelter. Of course the change of clothing, water and other listed common kits items go in. Good luck and have prayer before assembling, you never know what the spirit might prompt you to put in that may only make sense when you come to need it.

I have been the lead member in a YSA FHE committee for 8 months now, and before that I was a member of the FHE committee for 4 months. What seems to work well for us is splitting up into "roles" that way everyone knows clearly what they are responsible and accountable for–it also seems to divide the work evenly. We have a Lessons role, a Conducting role, and an Activities role. The Lessons role is responsible for asking people in the ward to give lessons each Monday and making sure there is a lesson given each FHE. The Conducting role is on time each week and asks people to give opening and closing prayers, leads the song, as well as ask for any annoucements and then turns the time over to the person giving the lesson that particular week. The Activites role is in charge of running the activity. All FHE committee members help brainstorm for activity ideas. I have been the Activities role for 8 months now, and you would be surprised all the ideas you can find by googling "party game ideas," "fhe activity ideas," and asking people who attend FHE what kind of activities they want to see more of. If you have more than 3 members in the FHE committee I would suggest putting another person on Activities role as it is the most time consuming role of the bunch.

For my Divine Nature projects, my friend and I each handpicked 5 temples, learned about them, and drew them. It was fun hanging out with her, and when we were done with the temples, we sent them to the actual temples. It was cool knowing that people in Bolivia and Rome got to see OUR drawings. We even got some thank you notes back!

I'm sure you are right. It's a lesson in patience and humility for me, but the same words are coming even from the Southern members who have been here most of their life, not just me. The words, close-mindedness came from their mouths as they're the ones who were shot down before I even came here. Many want to see changes, but it's always a fight. It's the well-meaning by-the-book types that they've been up against. Gets very discouraging for everyone, not just me. I guess it's something we all need to learn from, and in the end, I'm sure it will all sort itself out. In the meantime, I'll continue doing what I've been doing on my own personal sites.
I do love the people here, some of the most loving and friendliest I've ever seen, but a closed mind, no matter where in the country it is . . . is a sign of a prideful heart. When the general authorities say to do something, we either obey or we don't. It's our choice, but if choose to be hesitant, we are the ones losing the blessings that come with obeying the counsel of the Lord's chosen leaders. The work is hastening for a reason. They lowered the missionary age for a reason. Our youth are the ones who will be lifted up at the last day, the ones who will see the face of the Savior. http://youtu.be/IqaesQ2EE8w
In the words of Dallin H. Oaks concerning the world events of today: "even non-members are "waking up" before our own members are." Things are moving forward quickly. Soon there won't be time to take things slowly, but for now, patience is a virtue that I still need learn and I guess this is my test.
Thank you again for your insight. I do appreciate it and have learned a thing or two as well. God bless you, and all of us.

Actually, this is a legitimate question, and I'm certainly NOT trying to stir up trouble! :-) I moved here to the south and let me tell you . . . after living all over the country, I have NEVER seen the church as it is here, at least not where I'm at! Things are so backwards and closed-minded here that everytime something is suggested that is being done in wards and branches all over the rest of the country, it gets shot down.
I don't see what the big deal is, but they are such sticklers down here . . . they want us to tell everyone about the church, but yet we can't use the name of the church or it's organization? Go figure. The way everyone is interpreting the church policies here, they all say different things, so I'm just trying to sort it all out.
Regarding your statement: "Of course we can use the name of the Church online. If not, no one could refer to the church by it's full name in print anywhere." That's EXACTLY what I told the leaders here . . . plus there would be no books written by church members or cd's, etcetera. It's like talking to a brick wall.
I figured your site, as well as many others have received permission to use things . . . I do so with my own websites (yes, I make my own self-hosted WP sites). They wanted this FB page for our Relief Society, but with all the "can't do's" I'm about ready to let them handle it themselves and I'll just do my OWN personal FB page for RS.
I'm just a bit frustrated with things down here . . . I've never had to deal with such closed minds before. Time is running out, the work is hastening and moving forward at an ever-increasing rate, and to piddle over such things as this is, in my opinion a big waste of time. That is why I FINALLY called the Intellectual Property Dept myself. They're the ones who told me that we couldn't use the names or logos (including RS, ward & branch names, etc) in the titles or headers of our page or sites, but it was okay to use in the description or body text. Looks to me like we ALL need to pray about it because we are ALL definitly not ONE or UNITED in this matter.
Thank you for your explanation and information. I certainly see things closer to your POV than to anyone else's I've talked with. I apologize if I offended you, I certainly didn't mean to. It may have just been my frustrations showing through. I LOVE your site, as well as others . . . and I'm currently working on a really big membership site myself, possibly the most important one I've ever done.
Best wishes to you, and continued success with your site! The work will continue to move on despite the little (or big) setbacks! :-)
