The best projects are the ones that benefit your local community. Just search for volunteer opportunities on the web. Our stake just finished a food drive for the homeless, made pocket hearts for children in crisis, and assembled pool kits for a local kids program. We are planning to pack school kits in July, and fill baby closets in September. And our town isn't that big.

Sue, if you are still monitoring this thread at all, I would love to have a copy of the original music for 'I Love My Land'.  My email is granolamama at gmail dot com.  Thank you.

    Dear Sue,

If you are still willing to share a scanned copy of "I Love My Land, America."  I would love to see the original version!  I am an elementary music teacher and I think the lyrics are perfect for a Patriotic Program!

    Thanks!

For girls camp this year we are doing the Lehi's dream faith walk, and I am not able to get into the link you have above.  Is there any way you could send that link again.  I have been having a hard time finding ideas about how to do this.

    Thanks

The Primary Video Collection is referenced in the Primary 3 book, Lesson 13.  "Show to the children Baptism–A Promise to Follow Jesus (9 minutes) on Primary Video Collection (53179)…"

I have been looking for it as well, but have found no resources.  I looked up the video on the church catalog, but didn't find the corresponding item.

This is a powerful lesson.  I am using the "heart" theme to teach.  I am also using all the scripture references that are listed in the lesson along with the examples of Moses and Jonah. My handout is a magnet with the scripture Psalm 139:23-24 with a heart sticker on it.  I am putting letters spelling the word character on the board. I have felt that an important discussion will be on how we draw near to God.  The scripture D&C 88:63-68 will be the closing.  Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Jenny!  I had not tried the videos, and I just did.  Still a little difficult for him (and this is all new for us, many difficult concepts).  But I may try anyway with the New Testament stories.  It looks easier, with less characters and heroes.  I could also pick and choose some Old Testament stories: he is a big fan of Veggie Tales and could relate to them,.

The broadcasts are good also, I can use them to supplement the old and New Testament stories.

I tried the web site, but just like you my browser is not allowing me to go there because it says this site is infected with malware…

    Hola,

I teach Sunday School.  My class are the 12-13 year olds.  I have a variety of kids, part member homes, strong families, and inactives. A few of them have their scriptures on electronic devices, and they bring them in and use them for other things, games, texting etc. I have no support from the Priesthood correcting this to make it books only, so right there the kids have won. Spending a whole month on a topic which is being covered by another class is redundant to me.  I read what they are teaching and sometimes I wish they would work with me to let me know what they are going to teach so I could follow with something that would reiterate what they have taught and take it a step further.  I wish the curriculum maybe had the lessons a few months separated so that when either of us taught, it might seem like we could see what they actually know and take it a step further.

Anything I do with my class, has to be done in the class.  Very few if any remember to come prepared as they spend time with one parent on a weekend or vice versa.  Others just don't care to complete a church assignment.  I've taught the youth for many years and this group, behavior wise, are the most challenging.
