Hello!  I am an "investigator" (I think this is the word to describe somebody actively learning about the LDS and considering joining the Church). I am a widowed mother of a 23 year son who has a Moderate Intellectual Disability.  I am trying to find materials to help talk about the faith to him and it is not easy.  The missionaries showed us a book with pictures (Book of Mormon Stories), but it is still too difficult for him to understand.  His level is pre-school (he loves Veggie Tales).  Could anybody suggest something that might help us? I would be very grateful, thank you.

Have you tried the video versions of the Scripture Stories? These will be video versions of the scripture stories that the missionaries showed you, but they are set to music and video.

You might also try the Scripture Stories radio broadcasts, which feature children sharing their favorite stories from the scriptures.

http://scriptures4kids.com was a great website that had three versions of the scriptures, one beginner, one middle, and one intermediate, but right now my browser is preventing me from visiting the site.  Hopefully it will be back up soon.

Thank you so much Jenny!  I had not tried the videos, and I just did.  Still a little difficult for him (and this is all new for us, many difficult concepts).  But I may try anyway with the New Testament stories.  It looks easier, with less characters and heroes.  I could also pick and choose some Old Testament stories: he is a big fan of Veggie Tales and could relate to them,.

The broadcasts are good also, I can use them to supplement the old and New Testament stories.

I tried the web site, but just like you my browser is not allowing me to go there because it says this site is infected with malware…

I have the email address of the webmaster, so I emailed her about the problem.  She was unaware of the issue and is trying to fix it now.

Thank you! I checked this morning and it is still listed as unsafe.  I will check again later.
