We went out of town over the weekend to visit some family in Connecticut. My cousins Andy and Ricky had a combined homecoming/farewell at their church on Sunday and so we drove up to see them and for the service. For today’s reading I asked the kids to read 1 Nephi 13: 19-29, 40; 1 Nephi 14:23 and Mormon 7:8-9. Our discussion today was on whether the Bible was inferior scripture or not. They’ve heard all their lives that “plain and precious parts” have been removed, and the difficulty of reading the Bible sometimes means it gets less attention in the Church. The county transportation department was able to find transportation on a bus for our kids, and now the Seminary students will be able to ride the bus from my house to school each morning! Well, it’s over. All the preparing and fretting and lack of sleep culminated in a slightly rocky first day of Seminary. I’m so relieved to be finally teaching!
