Occassionally the website gets attacked by spam bots. I’ve deleted the bad posts! Thanks — j

In the Jackson Mississippi stake, all of the units but one are remaining with the 1 meeting per month program. Apparently that works better for them since their members travel such a distance to meetings.
Any one know of other ideas?

There actually is a songbook published by the Church for Young Women. It’s “A Song of the Heart” and is available from Distribution at http://lwww.ldscatalog.com/ for $7.00. The product # is 32509000.
Another song especially for YW is “Come, Hold your Torches High” ($2.00, 32510000). I really like this one.
Nearly every month, a new song is published in the New Era. Most of them are beautiful and very easy to play and sing. Many of them are written by youth or “regular” members of the Church. Your group could even write and submit one!
And of course, don’t rip too hard on the Hymn book — it is intended to be used by all the auxilliaries from Primary on up, and many of those sacred songs end up becoming favorites.
In truth — there are WAY more songs for youth than Primary! You just gotta know where to look.
Glad you’re enjoying the site!

January 27, 2006 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Bear my testimony on my hand talk in General Primary Meeting #244755
I made a handout based on this talk here:
The talk is by Susan L. Warner, and the link to the talk at library.lds.org is at the bottom of the clipart description.

All I know is that the stake that performed the skit borrowed period clothing from Pioneer Theater. Like you, I assume that means they used 40s clothing for the president in the 40s.
I don’t have any lyrics to the song or pictures other than the link I posted.
Wish I could be more help :(

You can email them to me at [email protected]. Let me know if you get an error b/c they’re too big.

I don’t have any pictures of RS presidents, and don’t know what you’re asking for — there aren’t any references to using pictures in the skit.
At the top of the Relief Society Birthday program page you’ll find links to the Church pictures available online and the poster from distribution.
I don’t have music or a video from the production, which was performed several years ago in another stake. Everything I have is in the Emma’s Garden Party file.
The lyrics for the Irving Berlin song, “Sisters”, is online at SeekLyrics.com. You’ll have to buy sheet music, as I’m certain all of his work is copyrighted.

Yes, she is talking about the poster of the General RS Presidents from Emma Smith down to present. It’s mentioned in an article about RS Birthday programs on this website here

No I only have it in the 4 person style. Since it’s a MS Office file, you should be able to edit it down yourself, or you could give it away as a Visit Teaching gift. If you cut it down, send me a copy so that I can share it with others who might be interested.
On my printer, if I set the print quality to
“draft”, it uses a lot less ink and prints 18 pages per minute black and white.-j

Check out the “More Ideas for Small Gifts” link under Other in the YW section at left.
I have some more ideas, but haven’t had time to create the clipart for them. Hopefully I’ll have some of them up before Valentine’s Day…..

Latter-day Specialties Online has some Value balloons hat could be the “arise” part, and you could use some of those battery-operated candles for the shine forth part….
Oriental Trading has some cute battery-operated torches that look like they flicker. They could be used for lots of activities — especially camp.
I think the girls’d go nuts about these UFO lamps from Oriental Trading, too. Here are some Laser Ball Lamps that you could say symbolizes the earth with the light of the gospel.
I also really like this nation’s flags on a 15 foot string that has flags from several nations on it. It fits well with the “standard to the nations” part.
Good luck — j

I would go to http://images.google.com/ and search for “handcart” or “mormon handcart” or “hand cart clipart”. I did do a quick search and was able to find several files.
If the copyright information isn’t posted, be sure you contact the person who owns the website to make sure it’s okay to use the images.

I haven’t ever planned a youth conference before, and I honestly don’t have any idea where to send you to look for ideas!
Wish I were more help! Hopefully someone else can answer your question!
