I have had problems with LDSAudio as well, essentially bait-and-switch sales tactics. I am not sure what the relationship is between the LDS church and LDSAudio but dishonest behavior on the part of a company that shares the the name reflects poorly on the church.

While it is not an honesty issue I can’t help but feel unimpressed by LDS Library 2009. It doesn’t have much more content and my old Gospelink 2000 and the interface is not as good.

I recommend staying away from these folks.

LDSAudio as I knew it closed their doors roughly two years ago. I don’t know anything about who bought the domain and company (a domain search says the site is registered with Infobases), but apparently they are operating again.

I am not surprised they went out of business — not only because the market is so small, but the wholesale prices are just too high. I approached DB about distributing MP3s on my site about 2 years ago. Unfortunately, DB’s wholesale cost for distributing their downloadable music is too high, and I was unable to distribute the music profitably. I would only make around 10 cents per download, and that would be blown if I had to take even 1 support call. The market is also very small, which makes it extremely hard for LDS MP3 libraries of any kind to be profitable volume-wise. It’s really too bad that our LDS artists are suffering from lack of distributorship and the bad reputations of some companies — not to mention how hard it is to publicize them.
