What does Advocate mean?

1 John 2:1
I chose to have the class do a Mock Trial to learn just what an advocate does. They did the Humpty Dumpty Trial. Our room was set up like a court room and we had a judge dressed in a black robe I wore when I graduated from college. I found a “gavel” in our toy box that the judge LOVED to bang!
The class loved it and were very much engaged. (We did not have the jury deliberate.)
All of us sin and make mistakes. When we repent and obey, we allow the Savior to be our advocate or defender with the Father.
