Activity: Primary Song Snowflakes

Downloaded from: http://ocdprimarychorister.blogspot.com/2013/10/activity-primary-song-snowflakes.html Every winter, I love to make Snowflakes with songs on the back for the children to choose from.  This year, I decided to design snowflakes that go with the theme of several songs.  I’ll let a child choose a flake from the board and see if he or she can guess which song it might go with.  Here are the flakes I’ve come up with, along with…

1 Nephi 19 Trample The Lord

Downloaded from: http://seminarymoments.blogspot.com/2013/10/1-nephi-19-trample-lord.html 1 Nephi 19:7 tells us that some people trample under their feet the Lord and his commandments. How do  they do this?By refusing to to hearken to the Lord’s counsel and believing the things He says are not important. I passed out FTSOY (For The Strength Of Youth) books and had them each: *Pick a topic*Tell us how people trample it under their feet*How they can keep…

Activity: Sister Crazypants

Downloaded from: http://ocdprimarychorister.blogspot.com/2013/10/activity-sister-crazypants.html Occasionally, when I am having a hard time getting excited about reviewing songs, I’ll let Sister Crazypants substitute for me.  To prepare for the activity, gather silly things to wear.  I found inexpensive items from the Dollar Store, Thrift Store, or Halloween market.  These might include such things as: a scarf, apron, tutu, lei, necklace, hat, shower cap, headband with bunny ears (or hearts, pumpkins, shamrocks, etc.),…

October Visiting Teaching Message Handout

The October Visiting Teaching Message is about The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Creator. The whole lesson was fabulous and I recommend reading it in its entirety, but here is one of my favorite parts of the lesson from Joseph Smith. Halloween

Downloaded from: http://ohwhatdoyoudoforsingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/10/halloween.html “Boo-ling” For this activity, you will need bowling pins (I picked mine up at Target), paper ghosts, and a small ball or pumpkin. Write song titles on the back of the ghosts and tape them to the bowling pins.  Set the pins up and have a child roll the ball toward them.  If the child knocks down one pin, that’s the song you sing.  If a few pins…
