Are we able to show the movie 17 Miracles at an Enrichment Night Activity or is not allowed because of copyright laws?
Public showing of a movie is not allowed because of copyright law; however, you can pay a fee to the copyright owner of most movies to show it in a group setting. This license is called a Public Performance License Last I heard, the fee was $50-75.00.

Another option is to go to their webpage & contact the production company & ask for permission. They may grant it. I was a cub scout leader when “Down and Derby” came out. Their production company granted permissions, with a couple conditions – they wanted to know where it was going to be shown, how many were going to view it & they wanted it promoted as being for sale at your local *insert stores here* – you don’t have to do big advertisement, just mention it. I wonder if the production company for 17 Miracles has anything similar…
