Standards Night Activities
Young Women Court
Jen Franklin shared this cute script for a mock trial where the young women share experiences and are found "guilty" of living the gospel and new YW theme. Very cute way to spotlight the girls for doing good things.
Temple Block Craft
Glass Block Temple - step by step instructions for making a beautiful reminder to help girls set a goal of attending the temple.
Sally Ann the Modest Princess
Julie O. shared this cute skit that teaches modesty. She says, "I wrote this skit to go along with a modesty activity idea I saw on your website. We used the idea of the funny immodest clothing ideas and made a skit out of it. We had the leaders be the models and the young women really had a fun time laughing at the immodest clothing, for example the "bear" tummy, wearing a teddy bear around the waist over clothing. We had a lot of fun with this skit and hopefully others can use it to teach the importance of modesty to their young women, especially with summer coming and the end of year dances."

Kryptonite Dating Standards Night
Kim A. compiled several ideas to create this Standards Night activity idea. It uses a kryptonite object lesson to teach dating standards: run, don't resist. It also includes a list of celestial dating rules said to have been passed out at BYU by Gordon Hinckley by ywconnection.com. (I have no way of verifying this claim, but I have no special reason to doubt it either.) Sounds like a good activity.

Snow White and the Seven Values
Kathy P. wrote this fun script for her unit's New Beginnings program, but it could be used as a standards night activity, too. It uses alternate lyrics for the songs in the Di&ney version of Snow White (included) as music. As Snow White tries to reach the temple, she receives help from the Seven Values.
As decorations, Kathy's group used apples placed on mirrors as centerpieces.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road (Temple Virtues Skit)
The author of this play, Brenda H., submitted her script in January 2007 that uses the format of the movie The Wizard of Oz, to teach the virtues that one must have in order to go to the temple.
The entire script is written in rhyme, which would make it very easy to memorize. In addition to Wizard of Oz costumes (Dorothy, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, etc.), you'll need the following props:
- Bean Bag with signs for obstacle
- Temple Backdrop
- Sign that says (Path of Virtue with Young Women Torch)
- Balloons to represent the values
- Brain, Medal, Heart Necklace (big plastic heart on string)
Following are some images submitted by Brenda H. to let you know how their unit set up the gym for this production (click each to see it larger):

American Idol Standards Night
The author of this play, Jechelle S, submitted her script in January 2007 that uses the format of the popular television show, American Idol, to teach standards from the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet.
The script calls for 10 contestants, 1 narrator, and 3 judges. The scene should look something like the show, with a stage, mic, and table for the judges to sit at. The production could be whittled down to suit a smaller cast, or it is big enough to be used for a stake Standards activity.

Modesty Matters
History of the Modesty Matters Program:
This skit was first performed January 31, 2002, in the Payson West Stake as a Standards Night activity.
The author of this play, Lisa T. Hansen, submitted the script in March 2005 to share with all of you! The program puts news words to Disney songs to teach about modesty. I LOVE it! It is intended to be a Standards Night activity, but could be modified for use in many kinds of Young Women activities.
Here is what the author says about the script:
Our stake produced a 45 minute play titled "Modesty Matters." It features four scenes from Fairy Tales. The heroine of each tale learns a lesson about modesty while a King and Magic Mirror observe and narrate the play. The short musical numbers support the lessons learned. For example, Snow White receives a strapless prom dress instead of the poisoned apple, but she surprises the audience by emerging with a cute little jacket over the dress, and the song accompanying the scene goes like this: (to the tune of "Be Your Best" from Beauty and the Beast) Look your best! Look your best! Put your prom dress to the test! Put a jacket 'round your shoulders POOF! You have a modest dress!" Topics covered include short shirt solutions, remembering your royal heritage, dealing with immodest clothing gifts, swimwear, the perils of too much focus on "looks," preparing for the temple, the "For the Strength of Youth guidelines."
This program is a big production, but parts of it could be taken (especially the cute songs) and used in smaller units or as a last minute Standards Night or even as fun camp songs.
Here is the Modesty Matters Script in PDF -- looks best or the Modesty Matters skit in text format.
Here is the music from the skit in PDF or in text-- if you don't look at anything else from this skit, definitely look at the music!
Here is a short, easier Modesty Matters script by Gina D. Read about how to perform it here.
