Appropriate Sabbath Activities

Announce to the class that you will be having ice cream sundaes. Provide bowls and spoon and dish out the ice cream. Then put out the icky toppings such as pepperoni, chopped onions, grated cheese, BBQ sauce and some cheese whiz. The students will gross out! Ask them "What's wrong, don't you like cheese?" or onions, pepperoni. They will answer to the effect of "Yes, but not on ice cream!" The stage is set to discuss the Sabbath day and that while some activities we do during the week aren't bad activities, they are just not appropiate for Sundays. You can also use this object lesson to teach appropriate bahavior during lessons or mutual activities.
