Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2014/03/blueberry-lime-coconut-pie.html This has a been a long, cold winter in Michigan. We’ve been dreaming of green grass, warm breezes and anything that is not covered in snow! This pie reminds me of Michigan summers and the blueberries we pick every year. I unearthed some frozen berries and made this yesterday, and wanted to save the recipe for the next time we need some blueberry lovin’ from the oven….

Downloaded from: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/PattiesPrimaryPlace/~3/fSv_ffitTd4/valentines-singing-time.html Since yesterday was VALENTINES DAY, I would do some heart popping balloons for singing time! I would go over to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and look for some heart shaped balloons. Or just 7 or 8 red balloons will do in the 9 or 10 inch size. Then I would put 7 songs on little strips of paper and roll them up inside each of the balloons….

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/02/galentines-day-party-activity.html Most of our youth are preparing for an upcoming music festival youth conference, so those kids (who will be 14 or older by the conference this summer) have singing practices for 2 mutual activities each month. Since these happen on our regular combined ym/yw or class activity nights, these either leave the younger beehives with nothing to do and/or leave the older yw (who choose not to…

Explain that what they saw was an “image” of themselves. Have the children listen for whose image we were created in as someone reads Genesis 1:27. Explain that God has eyes, ears, a mouth,…

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/02/say-yes-to-dress-project-runway-modesty.html This week we had an all-girls activity planned by the Beehive class. We borrowed heavily from the Sisters in Zion blog where I saw the original idea, “Say Yes to the Dress”. We did our activity differently, but the wedding dress making contest idea was the same. Check out the original activity idea by clicking on the photo (from the post on the Sisters in Zion site)…

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/01/annual-youth-fundraiser.html Every year we have a fundraiser to help send our youth to camp (Scout Camp, Cub Scout Day Camp, and Girls Camp). Please note that each ward handles their camp fundraising as directed by their local leaders (Bishop or Stake President), so this activity might not be appropriate for everyone. Here is the official policy from the current handbook of instructions. 13.6.8 Fund-Raising ActivitiesFund-raising activities are not…

Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2014/01/come-unto-christ-mutual-activity.html Here is another activity inspired from a 2014 New Era magazine article. This time we are focusing on coming unto Christ through principles found in the Duty to God program. We began our evening all together, introduced the 2014 mutual theme, and gave everyone the card shown above. (I had meant to bring large envelopes or clear page protectors for they youth to collect all their handouts –…

Downloaded from: http://ohwhatdoyoudoforsingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/10/halloween.html “Boo-ling” For this activity, you will need bowling pins (I picked mine up at Target), paper ghosts, and a small ball or pumpkin. Write song titles on the back of the ghosts and tape them to the bowling pins. Set the pins up and have a child roll the ball toward them. If the child knocks down one pin, that’s the song you sing. If a few pins…

Downloaded from: http://seminaryatsixam.blogspot.com/2013/09/my-class-and-seminary-miracle.html This year, I have 25 students. Many of them attend early morning Seminary against great odds. They travel through unsafe neighborhoods in the dark early mornings and many of their families do not always have dependable, if any, transportation. Last year, some of them walked** and some used public transportation. This year, no one is walking and public transportation has only been utilized a few times. In spite…
