Valentine’s Day Scripture Chase
We divided up the girls into 2 groups to race with each other They received the scripture reference then they had to read it out loud, run to the candy bowl, pick out the conversational heart that it best matched with, run back to the group and read the next scripture.
The first team to complete this game won a sticker- I am sure we could have found something better- but stickers are fun!
Afterwards we went into the kitchen to decorate cupcakes with hearts and candy sprinkles.
These girls are super fun!!
Here is the list of Scriptures we used- but you may have to find the scriptures that best match your hearts:
John 3:16
Personal Progress Punch Board
Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2013/02/personal-progress-punch-board.html We have been mixing things up a bit with recognizing/encouraging our young women with their personal progress. We are doing something different each month, and February we are focusing on the value of Divine Nature. I made a punch board by hot gluing 28 paper cups to a foam core board, then putting surprises into each cup, and covering with pieces of tissue paper. I stretched rubber…

Fruits of the Spirit
I made this image to go with a poster I am using throughout the Seminary year. I cut out a piece of red poster board in the shape of an apple. During the next few weeks I will have students write on post-it notes when they notice something during Acts that was a sign following those that believe in Christ. The purpose is to help them learn to recognize followers…

The Prophet Joseph Loved Children by Clark Kelley Price
3 Nephi 9:22; Moroni 8:17 Wherefore, all children are alike unto me; wherefore, I love little children with a perfect love. Moroni 8:17 Joseph Smith tried to keep all of Heavenly Father’s commandments. He wanted to be kind to everyone, especially children. Joseph knew that Jesus Christ wants all His disciples to have the faith and humility of little children (see 3 Nephi 9:22). Joseph taught the people about God’s…

5 Testimony Fingers
This is from an idea given in a 1998 General Conference talk by Susan L. Warner, then 2nd Counselor in the Primary General Presidency. She talks about how her father taught her to bear her testimony by using the fingers on her hand to remember the points she should talk about: 1. God is our loving Father in Heaven. 2. His Son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior and Redeemer. 3….

President Hinckley’s Book of Mormon Challenge – Aug 2005
President Hinckley challenged every person to reread the Book of Mormon before the end of the year in the August 2005 First Presidency Message article titled Testimony Vibrant and True. The challenge is considered so important that a letter from the First Presidency was sent out announcing the challenge so that those who do not take the Ensign could hear about it. It’s not listed in the Resource Guide (probably…

10 Warnings from Elder Neal A. Maxwell
Here is a handout I made from the 10 Warnings by Elder Neal A. Maxwell as suggested in the Young Women’s Manual Resource Guide. These warnings are about the use of procreative powers (for the 1 page handout I had to shorten some of these): 1. Resist the rhetoric of the world, and you will find that, if you stand fast, so will others—some surprisingly. As Paul said, “Where the…
