we still have the kids use the restroom & get a drink if needed. then we alternate between journal writing & singing: one week they come into the primary room & sing or hum along with the prelude. the next week they pick up their journals (notebooks they decorated in January & stacked in class totes outside the door–labeled) & write about their lesson. Or they can write about anything church related. we also have a few suggestions on the board.
we remind them that we are getting ready for sharing time & everyone needs to do their part to invite the Spirit into our Primary.

The 2012 Primary theme is CHOOSE THE RIGHT. More details will be available from September 2011 on the LDS on line store.

We lift ours. I have been Primary Music Director for 3 years and I have not heard of not lifting the scriptures while we sing the song.

We’ve been hearing more and more discouraging sleep-overs in our area. We just decided to have a blanket no church sleep-over policy. Since we can’t pick and choose whose houses are approved and not. I think it’s a big bummer since the girls have so much fun, but I can see the concerns, so that is why I ultimately helped make the decision.

Do’nt know what you are wanting, but I have a compassionate Service Leader who then has a committee. Communication is given through the Leader and RS Presidency. She then has a committee who is in charge of different tasks such as Funerals, new babies, widows, humanitarian aid, writing missionaries & service men/women, birthday cards, and visiting new sisters (welcoming folder). The Leader is incharge of contacting VT for move ins/move outs and sickness who then report back. If anything is need we go to the committee first to take care of the need then to the rest of the sisters but first always the VT. The commitee reports back once a month to the Leader on what they have done for the month. Who then reports to the RS presidency at a presidency meeting. They then discuss any future needs for sisters and what needs to be done with the Leader.

Our theme for 2012 trek is “Zion; One Heart and One Mind”. I wish that was our country’s theme as well.

We have a YW sleep over every year. It is one of the things that the girls look forward to most! It turns out slightly different, depending on the corcumstances, but we stay at the YW President’s house. She has a pool and a hot tub, so they LOVE that… we make personal pizzas for dinner… the girls who want to stay up all night sleep in the basement, and the girls that want to sleep have a room on the main floor. Everyone brings sleeping bags, etc. The first year we had a big breakfast, but found that they really don’t eat much….. so this year we just had bagels, and muffins, etc. Good luck and have fun!

I am in my ward primary presidency and have not heard anything from church headquarters on this matter. Our primary is still lifting scriptures:)

How sad that people are so uptight that they would discourage kids from lifting scriptures in the air as a simple gesture that can help them better understand the importance of the power of the scriptures in our lives.

I am looking for information where we were asked to avoid too many activities in the church. Such as only having the youth attend one meeting a week on the weekdays for activities. So, if they had a temple trip on Friday, then we shouldn’t have mutual on that week. I thought we were asked to do that to give the families more time together. Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?

We lift our scriptures in Primary when we sing “Scripture Power”. Maybe it was stopped because the kids were dropping their scriptures and they are sacred books?

“Aspire Higher” which then allowed many activities about temple building Sta George uTAH
