I am helping an investigator with this question. What resources could I go to that would list the 17 miracles outlined in the movie?

    Thank you for your help,
    JayR

I just had the wonderful opportunity to hear TC Christensen, who made this wonderful movie, speak. He said he can not list the 17 miracles at all. Because what is a miracle to one may not be a miracle to another….He gave the example of Was it a miracle that they even had the faith to start ? Levi Savage being in Iowa City the same time as the Saints were to leave..was that a miracle or do you not recognize it as one? There was a young man who was physically impaired but insisted on leaving on the trek…he only was able to trek 300 miles before succumbing to death was that a miracle? There are stories of individuals that were truly a part of this great event protrayed in the movie. It is a very emotional movie. Hope all can get a copy of this movie when it comes out to view. It is available at Deseret Book Sept 6th.

He didn't list the miracles but he did show them by making the film. Walking 300 miles would be a miracle for me because I have cerebral palsy. I can't see that happening. I know what that means, to have a miracle people can't see. I baptized into the church on September 27, 2009. That was the Sunday of laying of hands (baptism by fire of the Holy Ghost). My son was not allowed to attend my baptism or that Sunday by his probation officer. She told me I should wait to baptize. I cried so hard. I couldn't understand why she thought he shouldn't be there. There was no way I was going to wait, either. I believed the church was true. I believe in Jesus Christ and it was time for that expression. I baptized without my son present. That Sunday the Michigan Daily Four was my son's birthday:9911. My son Joseph was born on 9/11. More so, I was pregnant with him at fifteen which is rape in the state of Michigan. It was never prosecuted even though I was a public speaker for teen pregnancy prevention and many accountable adults heard my story, including teachers and law enforcement. Our lives have been quite a struggle. Both of us have struggled since birth and we are a kind of divine poetry, I believe. I believe we were with God before this life and will meet him after. My son never joined the church. He doesn't know he missed my baptism. I didn't have the heart to tell him how she said he couldn't go, he is so sensitive. When I tell people my baptism story they only ask me if I won the lottery. Of course i didnt play. My son sees nothing at all in the story. To me, it's poetic and it's our lost justice and something profoundly sad for our communities and the state of where we are as a people. As for myself, I got a great big that's my girl from Heavenly Father. I'm proud of pro life me for giving birth to my boy and baptizing when told not. I'm proud of my son and I think his tender heart is going to be touched by God at some point. This life or the next.
