I want to make a photo directory for our Relief Society and can’t find a software program for less than $100. Does anyone know of a free or inexpensive program to be used? I’d like to include a photo and a bit of information about each sister. It needs to be easy to add to (as in automatically adjusting and not having to cut and paste all the way down). Any ideas?

The Church’s website will create a photo directory listing of members automatically for you if you upload the pictures. It would not include the information about each sister like you’re looking for, but it’s possible you could generate the document, paste it into a wordprocesseor, and then edit it….

Not 100% sure about that tho….

That’s a super idea, Jenny. If all else fails, use Microsoft Word or Publisher. They work great, too….but Jenny’s idea would be a LOT faster and less work. Check with your Ward Clerk.

Go to lds.org –> Stake and Ward websites (bottom right).

Login, then click on the “Membership Directory” link on the left. There’s a link at the top right of that page that says “with photos”. If you have uploaded any pictures, they will be included on that page.

You’ll need Administrator priveleges to upload pictures. Your ward clerk can give them to you upon approval of the Bishop

1. Go to lds.org –> Stake and Ward websites (bottom right).
2. Click on “Administrator Options” at the bottom left.
3. Click on “Membership Directory” at the left.
4. Click “Change” beside the member’s name you’d like to update. There’s a 50k limit per photo and photos must be 135 pixels high by 180 wide or smaller.

If you know how to batch edit files, this won’t be a problem for you. Otherwise, it’s going to be a bit of a hassle to resize all your images. It’s unfortunate that lds.org fails to deliver basic functionality — AGAIN. :(

As far as the copy/paste idea, it will work easily, so you can edit the text as you need to.
