We are studying Genesis 47-49 tomorrow, 12 tribes. I am going to have the kids make posters with the symbols for each of the 12 tribes – I understand all of the symbols except for 3 – can someone please help me understand? Levi and Simeon – are those walls??? And then on Gad, is that like a military tent or something??? Sorry, I know this has to be easy to figure out, I blame it on “Early Morning Seminary brain” lol – I also posted this on a link below that someone had already posted but I thought I would put it on the main page also in hopes to get a quick response #12tribes

I know – so cool! I had looked up a bunch of stuff online but it all seemed somewhat skewed to me – it just didn’t feel right – I hadn’t come across these links you sent though – that will help my kids in their art work tomorrow :)

Hoping you’ll see this before to late – did you give the kids all the information for their flag or have them research it ? I can see some tribes are evident in their symbol but some aren’t – I want to do this with my kiddos tomorrow but didn’t know if you had them research it themselves and help if they couldn’t find it – or did you give them the symbol and they made the flag ? @Melissa Isaacs Dixon

We discussed the symbols but we did not have time for them to research it out on their own so I basically gave them the information. They still didn’t even have time to finish them – I’m hoping we finish tomorrow.

I gave them the color and the symbol – the links posted above were amazing – I just printed out the sheet that listed all of the details about each flag and gave them each a copy – that way I could walk around and oversee and answer questions
