Here is a handout I made to go with the Seminary lesson for Exodus 32. Following are the quotes, etc, that are included: IDOLATRY loving the creation more than the creator “Let us here observe, that three things are necessary in order that any rational and intelligent being may exercise faith in God unto life and salvation. “First, the idea that he actually exists. “Secondly, a correct idea of his…

Back in the olden days I used to create a planning calendar each year with some LDS Church history trivia in it. Every year people ask for a new version, but I’ve had callings that prevented me from making a new one. Who knew it would remain so popular? This year I’ve done an abbreviated version that has a few major Church history events along with the birthdays of the…

A schoolteacher friend made us a game based on the television show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire using Book of Mormon personalities. I altered it to use people from the Old Testament from Genesis to 1 Samuel as a review game for the kids in my class. This game takes about 10-15 minutes total to play, so I used it as part of a 3-way centers rotation between a…

I created these binder label sets for our class presidency binders. There’s a set for each of the three classes: Beehive, Mia Maid, and Laurel, and they feature the new class symbols from the 2010 handbook. I printed these on 8.5 x 11 inch sticker paper from Avery (product number 48165, Laser/Inkjet), and then I cut them apart with a paper cutter. Each sheet makes: – Four 3/4 inch binder…

For me, the new YW theme poster is next to impossible to read. Tiny gray letters on pink background? When we hold up the poster in Relief Society to repeat the theme, it’s very difficult for the older ladies to see. I created this poster series in an attempt to make it a little easier for those who don’t know the theme to read it. There are several sizes so…

17 Tools for Overcoming Opposition. I got a toolbox and labeled different tools in the box with these 17 labels and let the kids come up and choose a tool. Then we talked about each tool and how we could use that idea to overcome opposition. The freaky friday tool is when you see things through the other person’s eyes. And the Heavenly tool is when they see things through…

The object of the game is very simple. Each card has a set of unrelated words. When you read them aloud, they sound like familiar phrases, names, places . For example “eye knome eye read dimmer leaves” Now say it a few times and take a good guess. The answer is “I know my Redeemer lives”. Wasn’t that fun!? The rules: Divide class into two teams. There are lots of…

This coloring page was created from the clip art found on Mormonshare to fill extra time for October 2011 Sharing Time, weeks 3 & 4. It would also work well for any lesson about receiving answers to prayer.
