CHURCH NEWS SITES

when looking for news on the LDS church (like information on hurricane Katrina relief efforts, or the recent tsunami relief), here are the sites to check:

http://www.lds.org/newsroom/ – press releases, Church in the News, etc. Intended for news media, but often has info faster than the regular church news page, has responses to reporter errors made by the media.

http://www.lds.org/news/ – the site intended for members of the church. Friendly info here :).

http://www.LDSfoundation.org/ – had information first about tsunami relief efforts along with stories from LDS relief workers and missionaries serving there and links to donate directly to the effort online. Run by the Church and supplements Humanitarian efforts.

http://www.providentliving.org/ – occassionally has information, usually about how to donate funds.

http://www.lds.org/ – front page (occassionally has info, but most is found on the news pages)
