Quote:HI Jenny,
I have girl’s camp next week, and the camp director has put me in charge of putting a skit together for the girls to do at camp. She put me in charge because I am a very young leader, and our girls are struggling. We are hoping to base the skit around angels and white (faith).
Thank you so much,Well, it’s usually not a good idea to have folks wearing all white in programs we put on (see the letter from the Temple Presidency) ….
But here are some resources that might help:
* LDS Distribution List of Dramatic Skits – this is a list of skits that the Church has for sale on the Distribution website.* Beginner’s Faith – is a story from the Friend with a good idea in it: “She pulled out some pictures and told us several stories about faith and about how you need to have faith when you pray. She had us write “Faith without works is dead” on a piece of paper, then split us into groups to make up skits showing how faith helps prayers to be answered. Those skits were really fun! I guess we laughed every other minute.”
* YWConnection – has a list of children’s books that can easily be adapted into a skit on a value
* Daughters of Light – a cute one that deals with all the values; would go pretty well with this year’s mutual theme “Arise and Shine forth”
* List of LDS Christmas Programs / Skits – a number of these have angels in them, and can we talk too much about the birth of the Savior?
* Joseph Smith vignette – could very easily be spun as a faith skit, deals with both this year’s and last year’s themes, 10 minutes long
* Primary Theme 2005 – scroll down to JUNE and there are some ideas for faith skit things
Hope these help you get started
-jAs an aside, this list of skit rules would be useful for anyone who is going to be asking the girls to create skits.
