I love using the pictures in the Gospel Art Kit, which is no longer available for purchase (or if it is, I cannot find it in the LDS catalog). We have two partial copies in the Primary library that I am very protective of!
I know that most of the pictures are now available to download from lds.org. However, sometimes a single lesson or song uses many pictures, which can get expensive to print in color and do not last very well.
I have thought about how nice it would be to make a directory of sorts of the pictures that are included with the Primary manuals. For example, if I was looking for a picture of X, I could glance at the directory of pics in each packet to find it or one similar to it that I could borrow for my lesson. (much like the index that is included with the GAK).
Obviously there are quite a few manuals with many pics each, so before I embark on this project, I wanted to see if it has already been done by someone else.
Resources greatly appreciated!

Nothing like this exists. Many of the pictures in the Primary manuals don’t have the right kind of copyright release for this use. A *written* index would be feasible, however…..
The church is working on creating a clipart directory of sorts. I would hold off and see what comes out.
Also, FYI, the Gospel Art Picture kit is no longer available, but it has been replaced by the Gospel Art Kit. I find the Gospel Art Kit to be inferior to the older version because images are printed on both sides of the sheet. The pages are flimsy, and it’s difficult to flip around and use more than one picture during a lesson. The Gospel Art Kit contains many of the same images as the old Gospel Art Picture Kit plus more.

Okay — it’s called the Gospel Art Book. Here’s a link where you can get it from distribution:

Have you tried the LDS Meetinghouse Library? It has been really helpful to me in finding pictures used in primary for different classes. On the left it has ways to search for the different topics too. Not sure it’s what you are looking for, but it might help?
