I made a set of quiz questions for my Seminary class to use during our March Madness playoffs tomorrow.  We are just wrapping up 1 Corinthians, so our quiz covers Matthew to that book.   Printable version at the bottom of the page.   March Madness New Testament Quiz Questions(Matthew- 1 Corinthians) Each correctly answered question is worth 10 points.   The day of Pentecost, like the Passover, is was…

Here is a handout I made to use during our lesson on John 6 tomorrow. The movie referenced is from BYUTV’s show on the life of Jesus Christ. I am showing just the part on the bread of life sermon. Students will watch the movie and write down things new to them or items that they learned from their study the night before.
This attendance sheet makes it a breeze to transfer into CSTAR. If you’re wondering why all the different colors, I found that some students were getting their attendance lines confused with others (which makes for a ripe old mess). This way, students can stick to their color and keep the roll sheet clean. I’ve attached it as an excel doc so that you can change to your liking.
This document contains a very valuable list of Old Testament prophets and the ways they were in similitude of Jesus Christ. It was shared with me by my friend, Jen. Thanks! This was given to me in a PowerPoint format, and I have changed the formatting to something I think is better. I am supplying it as a PDF and RTF file with the points listed alphabetically and my version…

These are scripture mastery key phrase flash cards in classroom size. They will print on 8.5 by 11 inch paper front and back. On my printer, I have to choose “reverse printing order” on the second run to make these print correctly.
This is a form based on the one that my friend uses in her Seminary class. She puts a table by the door of her classroom where students sign in each day. The table has a sign in sheet, pen, and clock on it. The sign in sheet is a narrow lined sheet with a box for the student’s name, time of arrival, and a check box for if they…

I use these wordstrips to help my students learn the order of the books of the New Testament. We use these to compete by zone or individually. Students race to see who can order the books correctly first. This is also a good 2-5 minute time-filler if your lesson goes a little short. I laminate these and keep them in a ziplock bag ready to use whenever we need them….

I am planning to use this handout to help my Seminary students learn to apply the scriptures to their lives. To me, “likening” the scriptures to ourselves applies to our lives in 3 ways — applying that scripture to a past feeling or experience, a present activity , trial, temptation, or relationship, or a future activity, trial, temptation, or relationship. I’m hoping that this visual aid will help students drill…

As part of my teaching of the New Testament this year, I am going to have students move a tiny cutout of Jesus Christ around a big map in order to help them visualize where Jesus is at the time of his teachings. I tried to buy a map from Distribution, but it doesn’t seem to exist. So I made my own. I made a few slight changes to make…

This is the form that I’m using for March Madness this year in Seminary.  Students earn tickets each day during the month of March that they Zones compete against each other on Fridays for team point bonuses.  I think I will do 100 tickets for the team that wins first, 75 for second, 50 for third, and 25 for fourth. (I have four zones or teams.) My friend DeAnn gives…

Understanding Grace, Justification, and Sanctification   Justification and sanctification are at the center of God’s gracious plan of salvation and are the essence of our witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. While justification and sanctification may be viewed as distinct topics, in reality I believe they are elements of a single divine process that qualifies us to live in the presence of God the Father and Jesus Christ. Justification…
