Come Let Us Adore Him: Advent Calendar

This Advent Calendar first appeared in the December 1989 New Era. I have resurrected it, so to speak, and created a new document that could be used by Home/Visit Teachers, families, youth leaders, Priesthood, Relief Society or Seminary instructors.

This is a very cool calendar. It doesn’t have the little doors that we often associate with advent calendars. Instead, each day you read a short devotional about the life of the Savior along with a suggested activity and hymn that will help you draw closer to the Savior as you approach the Christmas Day celebration of his birth. Very, very touching.

Printing: Printing this document might be tricky. Each page is 4.25 x 11 inches. I meant it to be so that you could print 2 pages per 8 1/2 x 11 inch page. It didn’t quite work as automatically as I hoped.

In order to print the PDF version, Choose File–>Print. Then under Page Scaling, choose “Multiple Pages per Sheet”. Then under Pages per Sheet, choose “Custom” AND enter “2” in the first box and “1” in the second. You should see two columns on a single portrait oriented page.

I have only included the PDF version because the OpenOffice version was 17 MB, and the DOC file was 22 MB. The text alone (no images) is included in case you’d like to create your own version of this file.
