Funeral Program for Joseph Smith -D&C 135

This is one of my favorite lessons for the D&C year.  To teach D&C 135 about the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, I like to hold funeral services. With the services outlined here, it has the class read and listen to all of D&C 135, and hear the words of Parley P. For this demonstration have your class read the nine verses of Section 129 and be ready for a quiz. Explain that they will need to identify the 3 types of messengers that can appear to someone, and how to identify them properly.After the reading, get a chair to stand on, and 6 volunteers (2 to act our each situation below).
