This year I’ve created the New Testament License plates as larger images so that you can download them and resize them to whatever size you need. Let me know if you see any errors, and good luck teaching Seminary! Please email any handouts or games or other ideas you make for Seminary to [email protected]. I can use any and all help!

Downloaded from: http://seminaryatsixam.blogspot.com/2013/02/books-of-new-testament-relay.html Each team had a pile with books of the New Testament written on individual cards. They had to race to the wall and place them in order before the other team did the same. I recommend smaller teams. I have 24 students and should have had 4 teams rather than 2 so that each student had the opportunity to participate at a deeper level. Great way to…

Downloaded from: http://seminaryatsixam.blogspot.com/2013/02/scripture-relay.html I placed post it notes on the wall of the cultural hall containing one word or punctuation mark from 1 Corinthians 10:13. The class was divided in to teams so I did the same for both teams but on opposite sides of the cultural hall. When I said go, they had to race all the words down to the other end of the cultural hall and place them…

Downloaded from: http://seminarymoments.blogspot.com/2013/02/devotionals.html Our devotionals have been lack luster lately. I have let the students get lax. Our CES director has asked that the student chosen to be in charge of the devotional that day: 1. Stand at the front of the class2. Welcome the class3. Choose a hymn to be sung by the class4. Say the opening prayer5. Give a Spiritual Thought (based on last nights reading) Many of…

While researching Skyped seminary, I found this old post on Early Morning Seminary at Segullah. I got really tickled. It’s always a pleasure to hear other people’s experiences in Seminary. It made me think, after a year and a half teaching Seminary now, what can I say I’ve learned? These kids know more than they’re letting on. I am constantly surprised at the quality of response that my students give…

I made this image to go with a poster I am using throughout the Seminary year. I cut out a piece of red poster board in the shape of an apple. During the next few weeks I will have students write on post-it notes when they notice something during Acts that was a sign following those that believe in Christ. The purpose is to help them learn to recognize followers…

Here is how we do Scripture Chasing: I call out “Books Up” and students close their books and place their books out in front of them with the spine down and their hands on the front and back covers. No fingers touching the pages. I call out a clue, key word, or state ask a question that can be answered in a specific scripture, then I say GO. The first…

This great idea comes from Shauna at http://seminaryatsixam.blogspot.com/ As students arrive, each seat has 2-3 post-it notes with a word, number, or punctuation mark. When I tell them to go, they must work as a group to get their words in order to make a scripture mastery scripture. Until they see who has the name of the book and some of the numbers, they generally have no idea which scripture…
