By Elaine Henson Elaine Henson: Thanks for the Turkey Tail Feather SM Game idea! My kids loved it, it became a bit of a race, all of them charging down the corridor to find the right feather first. They have all got so good at their Scripture Masteries! And I had fun creating my cute Turkey ;) It is hard thinking of new things to do to keep SM interesting…

By Dorianne Quinton Varty Dorianne Quinton Varty: Tomorrow is one month until Christmas. I’m going to set up either a paper tree on the wall, or a fake tree (I have an extra one.) I’ll put a picture of the Savior on it. I’ll put a star on the top that says “Ye are the light of the world.” Every day they can write on a decoration what they did…

By Donna Ballantyne Culbertson Donna Ballantyne Culbertson: #Christmas Since we have 15 teaching days in December, I think I’m going to do the ’12 days of Christmas’ for my students. The small gifts will either be related to the lesson that particular day or just something to do with Christmas. Then, I’m hoping to arrange a breakfast at my house for them the day before their Christmas break. Should be…

By Sylvia Lee Kunz Sylvia Lee Kunz: Hey any ideas for Christmas gifts for your students, that’s not spendy? 3(1 hour ago) Wendi Gunn: This poem attached to a bag of M&M’s… As you hold these candies in your hand and turn them you will see, The M become a W, an E and then a 3. They tell the Christmas story, it’s the one I’m sure you know. It…

By Pattie Moss I have done PRIMARY BINGO GAMES in singing time for lots of the seasons. A cute one for Christmas is below. Woo Hoo! I love me a freebie! For Christmas I do J-E-S-U-S along the top, and for Thanksgiving we do T-H-A-N-K-S. Just make up some clip art pictures of 16 (4 x 4 grid) OR 9 (3 x 3 grid of pictures) that have to do…

By Angie Kent Rennie Angie Kent Rennie: Hello! I was just called as a release-time seminary teacher last week & I’m up to my eyeballs in QUESTIONS! ;) But my biggest question is this – what do know/do now that you wish you had known/done in the beginning? I’m stepping into a situation where I need to basically start class rules/expectations over & can do whatever I want. Thanks!! 2(1…

-To go with the week 1 theme of faith, teach the song “Faith”
-The Sharing Time plan for the first week involves teaching the story of Samuel the Lamanite. Reinforce this message and get a jump on Christmas by teaching “Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus.”
-The second week Sharing Time theme is “Prayer is reverent communication with Heavenly Father.” Explain what reverence means by teaching “Reverence is Love” or teach about Prayer by reviewing the songs “A Child’s Prayer” or “Children All Over the World.”
-Review types of prayer with this activity.
-If you’re celebrating Guy Fawkes Day (UK), try the
fireworks activity. Maybe don’t mention why you do fireworks on this holiday…
-Depending on which hemisphere you live, try one of the autumn or
spring activities.
