We have been working on teaching our Primary children the importance of reverence. It has been difficult to come up with things that both Junior and Senior Primary can understand.
We came up with “Millie the Church Mouse”. She is a small mouse that is hidden in the Primary room before church. Attached to her is always a new message for the children. So each Sunday as we gather for opening exercises (or closing) the kids immediately look around for Millie. Once they spot her, they fold their arms and sit quietly. The Presidency member who is conducting, then calls on one child to find her and read the message. *If you have a large Primary, choose one child to locate her and one child to read the message.
It has turned out to be a lot of fun and a great teaching experience for the kids!
Thanks!
