Preparing for Young Women’s

Preparing for Young Women’s
It took a long time trying to decide on the activities that we could do to help prepare the girls in becoming part of the Young Women’s program.  And I kept thinking about the “B-Attitudes”  I kept thinking that it might be too mature for these girls- but the way it kept coming to my mind it must be the right time to talk about it.  It was given to the youth so long ago- these girls weren’t even born when the talk was given and yet I couldn’t think of a better time to introduce it to the girls.
I couldn’t come up with a better lesson than to read the majority of the talk to them…
We did a wall plaque with all 6 plus 3 more that have always been spoken highly by President Hinkley.  We got our vinyl from Annette- Thanks You did a great job!!
This is my Daughter’s plaque,  all of the girls did a great job.  they were so pleased with what they created!

It was wonderful!

Downloaded from: http://murrayandmathews.blogspot.com/2013/03/primary-help-welcome-to-ym-and-yw.html  I found the following information helpful in conducting a 12 year old Primary graduation interview. This would also be a helpful if you are in Young Women’s or Young Men’s in welcoming a 12 year old into the program. From the June 2006 Friend, there is a great article called: “Welcome to the Aaronic Priesthood and Young Men”. This would also help with the Priesthood Preview too: Here is…

March Madness – 3/24 Singing Time

Downloaded from: http://aprimarysingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/03/march-madness-324-singing-time.html I’ll be out of town on March 24th, so have found a wonderful brother in our ward to sub for me.  Lucky for him, the week falls on when I had planned to play a “March Madness” review game – something I am guessing is totally up his alley because I know he plays. Here is my plan: Originally, I planned to have three separate baskets –…

Wacky Wands

Downloaded from: http://aprimarysingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/03/wacky-wands.html   I’ve mentioned my “WACKY WANDS” a couple of times – here is a picture.  It’s nothing fancy, just a bunch of baton options for when the kids help sing.  At the moment, I have a flower and foam wands from The Dollar Tree, a sparkly wand my daughter got at a birthday party, an inflatable light saber from Target’s party section, and a light-up flashlight/emergency whistle…

Jesus Christ Is Our Savior – Week 2

Downloaded from: http://ohwhatdoyoudoforsingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/03/jesus-christ-is-our-savior-week-2.html This week’s sharing time focuses specifically on the Atonement & Crucifixion.  I have done the following activity several times & it ALWAYS invites the spirit.  I am sure many of you have seen this before, but I feel that the best way to teach is often through repetition. This activity will be spread over two weeks…the first week focuses on the Atonement & Crucifixion while the second…

Jesus Christ Is Our Savior-Week1

Downloaded from: http://ohwhatdoyoudoforsingingtime.blogspot.com/2013/03/jesus-christ-is-our-savior-week1.html Another month, another song!  I am so excited that “If the Savior Stood Beside Me” has been included in the program this year. I actually really like the ideas presented in the sharing time outline.  Just be sure to coordinate with your primary presidency member to ensure that you don’t do the exact same thing as they’re doing for sharing time. 1.  Use the “Do as I’m…
