Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/sharing-time-i-can-gain-testimony-of.html IDENTIFY THE DOCTRINE (hearing a story): Tell the following story: “When President James E. Faust was a child, he had a nightmare and woke up crying. His grandmother hugged him, comforted him, and told him they were safe because Jesus Christ was watching over them. He went peacefully back to bed, assured that Jesus does watch over us.” Tell the children that this experience helped President Faust gain…

Downloaded from: http://ocdprimarychorister.blogspot.com/2014/02/song-i-stand-all-amazed.html If you are teaching this song in March of 2014, there is a great opportunity to introduce it on the last week of February. The theme for that week is: “Agency is the gift to choose for myself.” Use half of your time to sing or review songs about choice. Explain to the children that along with the gift of agency, we are given the responsibility to…

For example, you could bring two different kinds of fruit, a pen and a pencil, or two different kinds of shoes. Ask several children to choose between the objects. Explain that the ability to choose is a gift called “agency” and that we are free to choose, but…

Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/personal-progress-yw-personal-progress.html A couple weeks ago, as I was planning out some YW Personal Progress activities, I had an idea.I thought it would be fun to have a Personal Progress Olympics!I searched to see if anyone else had done something similar, but all I saw was an Olympic theme for New Beginnings…bummer. I didn’t have alot of time to plan, but I came up with a few ideas and…

Downloaded from: http://primarynotes29.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-lord-gave-me-temple-verse-1-with.html I’m doing this on 2-16-2014 to correlate with the Sharing Time Lesson. Thanks to Camille, where I found this idea! Sing 1) “The Lord gave me a temple to live within on Earth.” On 1/2 the chalk board draw a simple outline of a temple. Ask if any of the kids live at the temple and which one. Then ask what this line is talking about (our body is a temple).ALL SINGSing…

Downloaded from: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/PattiesPrimaryPlace/~3/fSv_ffitTd4/valentines-singing-time.html Since yesterday was VALENTINES DAY, I would do some heart popping balloons for singing time! I would go over to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and look for some heart shaped balloons. Or just 7 or 8 red balloons will do in the 9 or 10 inch size. Then I would put 7 songs on little strips of paper and roll them up inside each of the balloons….

Downloaded from: http://primarynotes29.blogspot.com/2014/02/real-lamination.html So, for over a year I was doing what I call “faux lamination” and using packing tape to cover my items. It worked, and is a viable option when you don’t have access to a laminator. But guess what I got for Christmas? A home laminator!!! Guilty confession… I love it!

Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/peronal-progress-yw-personal-progress-o.html Do your YW need a bit of a ‘jump-start’ on their Personal Progress? This activity is great for YW who are new to Personal Progress or those that have kind of fizzled out. While searching for Personal Progress ideas, I came across THIS idea and thought it was excellent. We decided it would be great for our YW, so I got to work planning.Instead of using this activity for…

Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/sharing-time-my-body-is-created-in.html Sharing Time Idea from the 2014 Outline IDENTIFY THE DOCTRINE (seeing a reflection): Hold a mirror in front of a few children, and let them describe what they see (eyes, ears, mouth, and so on). Explain that what they saw was an “image” of themselves. Have the children listen for whose image we were created in as someone reads Genesis 1:27. Explain that God has eyes, ears, a mouth,…

Downloaded from: http://primarynotes29.blogspot.com/2014/02/simple-asl-for-i-stand-all-amazed.html I was only planning on teaching the first verse in sign (the rest just normal singing), but I ended up typing it all out… so I’ll just have to see how well my kids catch onto it! I’ve already taught the 1st verse to my CTR5 and Sunbeam. They got it pretty fast, so I’m feeling optimistic. :) ——————————————— 1. I stand all amazed (I, AM [stand],…

Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2014/02/personal-progress-yw-frog-handouts.html Our YW focused on Faith during the month of January.I like to give them handouts or treats that have to do with the value to get them a little excited about Personal Progress, and then to also help them remember {they’re teenagers…they ARE going to forget}.I decided to do this as my Faith treat/handout: What do you think? My YW love food, so anytime I bring handouts, it…
