I am looking for some really fun Easter games. I feel like the same “running with the egg on the spoon games ” are getting old. Any ideas

Since the weather is improving now, it might be fun to do this as a geocaching or orienteering activity. After a short lesson on how we use guides, like the holy ghost, to find our way in life you send the kids out with scavenger hunt clues or GPS waypoints or whatever to find the prize. You could hide some Easter treats or small pictures of the risen Savior somewhere on the church grounds.
You could also do a mutual service project where you dye eggs and/or make Easter cookies and deliver them to members of your unit or neighborhood without children.
Here are some fun ideas I found online:
Duck Walk Race
You will need to create a starting line and a finish line for this game. Each player will stand at the starting line, squat down, and grab their ankles with each hand from behind. When everyone is ready say ‘go’ and the players must waddle like a duck to the finish line. The first person who crosses the line wins the game. Egg Toss (OUTDOORS)
You only want to play this game outdoors since the eggs used are not cooked. Break each player into a team with a partner. Line the players up in two rows so that the partners are facing each other. Give everyone in the first row a raw egg. They will toss it to their partner in the second row. After tossing the egg, the players will take a step back so that the distance between them and their partner is larger. The second player will then toss their egg and take a step back. Repeat this until there is only one egg unbroken. (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/129456/15_easter_party_games_for_children.html?cat=74)
The Wolf and the Eggs
One player is the wolf and the others are Easter eggs. Before the game begins, the eggs decide what color they are going to be. Usually the older kids choose colors with longer names and leave the easier colors for the younger kids. The eggs then face the wolf, who begins to guess colors. If the wolf guesses a player’s color, that player must step forward one step, spell the color, and then run a predetermined route before running back to the other players, called the “basket.” If the egg makes it back to the basket, he chooses a new color, and play continues. If the wolf tags the egg before he gets back to the basket, that player becomes the wolf. (http://grandparents.about.com/od/celebrations/tp/EasterEggGames.htm)
Candy Egg Toss
– Put three hula hoops on the ground in a triangle pattern. If you have six hoops, you can place them in a pyramid pattern. Tell the players the point value for each hoop. The one farthest away is worth the most points. Give each participant five candy eggs to throw from behind a designated line. Each time a player throws a piece of candy which lands in a hoop, he or she gets that point value. If players are old enough to keep a running total of their points, the game can go for several rounds. Younger players can be allowed to stand closer to the hoops to make their tosses. Egg Bowling
This game is played similarly to bocce or lawn bowling. It can be played indoors or out. Each player uses a colored boiled egg. A plain white boiled egg is used as the target. Players compete to see who can roll their egg closest to the white egg without touching it. The first person to win a certain number of rounds–usually five or ten–wins the game. Alternately, use a chocolate Easter bunny as the target. The winner of the game gets the chocolate bunny. (http://grandparents.about.com/od/celebrations/tp/EasterEggGames.htm)
PASS THE PARCEL
The original Game ‘PASS THE PARCEL’ was to wrap up a little prize, in about 20 layers of paper. Now party games have changed and a prize is under every layer of paper, with a bigger one in the middle. Arrange the kids in a circle on the floor.Start playing music, and then hand the parcel to the first party player.Whilst the music is playing the parcel is passed around the circle without stopping.
Once the music stops, the player holding the parcel tries to rip off a layer of paper before the music starts again, and the parcel gets passed on.This is repeated until all the layers of wrap are gone.
VARIATION 1 is to place a forfeit under each layer, for example, a piece of folded paper telling the player to act out an Easter animal or make Bunny faces”.
VARIATION 2 Great around the Easter table, instead of crackers, far more fun. Must not forget the paper hat and joke. If the music stops on the same person they simply pass it on to the person next to them.
VARIATION 3 Great for an office Easter meal, gets things warmed up. You could use a piece of Easter Trivia under each layer. If you were a mean boss, under each layer could be work related questions. (http://www.party-games-4-free.com/easter-party-games.html)
Jigsaw Puzzle Game
This is a very simple game, which can keep young children, entertained for ages. Take a large picture from a book or magazine which is related to Easter and cut it into several pieces, the size of piece will depend on the age of child who will be playing. This is also a great opportunity to use any old Easter cards. This puzzle game can be played either as a team or individual game.To play as a group game, cut up several pictures, but remember to remove one segment from each picture.
Each team will be presented with one piece of the puzzle. The remainder of the picture will be mixed with the other pictures, and placed facedown on the floor. Player 1 from each team holding their one piece of the puzzle, must then run to the jigsaw pieces on the floor, they can turn over a maximum of three pieces of the jigsaw, to see if they have a match. If no match is found the jigsaw pieces must be again, placed face down on the floor. The next team member will do the same; the game will obviously become easier, when there are less jigsaw pieces on the floor. As a suggestion, the younger members should be placed towards the back of a line.
The first team to complete their Easter jigsaw puzzle will be the winner.(http://www.party-games-4-free.com/easter-party-games.html)
Easter Charades
You will need to have pre written on individual pieces of cards, a title of an Easter or Springtime film, an Easter song or a quotation related to the Easter theme.
The player must read the card, without showing it to anyone, then act out what is on the card. No speaking, no touching objects and no mouthing the word.
The gestures you are usually allowed to use
For a book title, join your hands together as for prayer, then unfold them flat.
For a film title, place one hand over your eye in a shape of a lens, at the same time the other hand should be winding around in a circle, as if it is an old cine camera.
For a quotation, simply do a couple of quotation marks in the air.
For a TV show, draw a square box in the air.
Other gestures allowed shape your hands to spell “T” for “THE”, the number of words in a title can be displayed with the same number of fingers. Short word pinch your fingers together, long word stretch your hands out. Syllables touch your arm with the same number of fingers to syllables. Correct word touch your nose, and point to the person giving the correct answer. Or do a thumbs up sign.
Make up other gestures to suit your party.Peter Cotton Tail Race
This game is similar to the egg race however you are using cotton balls. This is a great kids Easter party game for the older kids or if you want something a little more challenging. This game will create tons of laughter.
Type: A little challenging and great for groups
Object: To get as many cotton balls in the basket before time runs out
You will need:
* Bag of cotton balls
* Spoons, 1 per group, or individual
* 1 basket or bowl per playerWhat to do:
1. Have all the kids line up at their starting point with their spoon and cotton ball
2. Have the him/her to put their other hand behind their backs
3. On ready, set GO! The race is on
4. Once the child puts their cotton ball in the basket he/she will run back and the next player repeats the obstacle
5. Continue until one group WINS! (http://www.best-kids-party-ideas.com/kids-easter-party-games.htmlRolling Eggs
Mark on the table, or on the floor, if preferred, with chalk, four parallel lines, eight or ten feet long, and four or five inches apart. Thus there are three narrow spaces [like the lines on a street, marking tracks that you should keep your eggs inside]. At the end of each [track] make a circle, numbering the middle one 10, and the other two, 5. The middle space is marked 3, and the other two, 1.
The object of the game is to have each child roll five eggs, one at a time, down the middle space to the circles at the ends. If the egg goes into the middle circle, it counts 10, but if it stops in the middle space, it counts only 3, and so on, counting the number of the place where it stops.
Tally is kept for each child, the one scoring the most points wins the game.(http://www.apples4theteacher.com/holidays/easter-fun/kids-games/rolling-eggs.html)
Easter Pictionary
Supplies:
* Chalkboard
* Chalk
* Eraser
* Easter Basket
* Papers with Easter objects written on them
* TimerHow To Play: Put papers with Easter objects written on them into basket. Divide children into two groups. Flip a coin to see which team goes first. Invite a child from the playing team to approach the chalkboard, draw a slip of paper and read it to themselves. On your mark, the child should then draw the object in hopes that his/her team members will guess the object on their paper. If the team guesses correctly before time runs out, they score a point. If the playing team does not guess correctly, the other team has five seconds to try to come up with the correct answer. If they guess correctly, they score a point and it is their turn to play.
This game can be simplified for young players utilizing words such as: carrot, bunny, candy. Make more difficult for older players by using short phrases: chocolate bunnies taste good, marshmallow chicks are yellow, etc. (http://holidays.kaboose.com/easter-pen-paper-activities.html)

my mom used to play egg hockey with us for FHE. We used a stuffed egg and brooms. just the cheap straw ones and there was a clothing basket at either end of a small court (usually out in the yard) It was a lot of fun!

We’ve played GPS egg hunt for the last couple of years and everyone loves it! You need several GPS units, cars, drivers, and Easter eggs. First, someone has to set up the route and record the GPS locations to give to each group (this part can be done well ahead of time). If done at the same time as the activity, hide the eggs while setting up the route. If done well before the acitivity, go back over the route to the hide the eggs before the activity begins. We hide as many eggs in the total group in each location. Each person finds 1 egg per location. Then divide into smaller groups, each with their own GPS unit, car, driver and GPS locations. It’s fun to mix it up so the whole group isn’t going to the same location and following one another. Have them start out in different locations and go through the locations in a different order. It is recommended that you do this in a secluded location or your eggs may get moved or taken. One alternate is to use homes within the ward/stake. If the boundaries are close enough it would eliminate the need for cars…
