The July 2014 Visiting Teaching message is about Jesus Christ being our Advocate with the Father. I love the following quote: Of Christ as our Advocate, Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said: “It is of great significance … Continue reading →

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/06/2nd-annual-fhe-mutual-pie-eating-contest.html Last night we had our 2nd Annual Family Home Evening Mutual Combined YM/YW Activity! Unlike our other Mutual activities, the leaders plan & carry out this whole activity so the kids can just enjoy (and see how its supposed to go). We started this activity last year after some of the YW in our ward commented that “nobody does Family Home Evening anymore Sister Rogers- thats old-fashioned” and I…

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/05/no-bake-cookie-cook-off.html “No-Bake Cookie Cook-off” – try saying THAT fast 5 times! For a recent Beehive Class Activity, we learned to make no-bake cookies. Ever competitive, the Beehive Class Presidency thought it would be fun to make it a competition. We selected 3 different types of no-bake cookie recipes and purchased the ingredients ahead of time. We also printed the recipes so that each team would have a copy…

The Sacrament is such an amazing privilege we have as Latter-day Saints. Through the Sacrament, we are able to renew our covenants with our Heavenly Father and receive a remission for our sins. Three Personal Progress value experiences revolve around the Sacrament,
Faith #4,
Virtue #4, and
Divine Nature #4—the latter including the memorization of the Sacrament prayers.
I have found two excellent printables with the Sacrament prayers that will aid in memorization and can be used as a simple day-to-day reminder of our covenants.
UPDATE 1/22/2015:
I’ve created copies of the Sacrament prayers that can be printed onto sticky notes (or just cut into 3×3 squares) which will not only aid in memorization, but can be placed anywhere to serve as a reminder of our baptismal covenants.

Downloaded from: http://inkablinka.com/2014/05/minister-visiting-teaching-message.html The Visiting Teaching Message for June reads about how we are disciples of Jesus Christ as we minister to others. Taking inspiration from the following quote, I made a decoder and bookmark that is meant to illustrate how we need to first observe, and then serve: Linda K. Burton, Relief Society general president, taught: “With practice, each of us can become more like the Savior as we serve…

Many of us are setting the goal to read the entire Book of Mormon over the summer, but some people aren’t always so sure how much they need to read to finish it by their goal. Inspired, I created a basic chart showing how many chapters and/or pages a d…

Downloaded from: http://ldsywideasandactivities.blogspot.com/2014/05/adapting-virtue-value-project-personal.html After reviewing (adapted) Personal Progress Value Experience with a young woman in our ward, she asked me how many more projects she needs to do to complete the program. I explained that there are ___ experiences left, and also eight 10-hour projects. I told her that one of the projects she can start right now is reading the Book of Mormon. I suggested that she start with that…
