How can I enlarge your clipart pictures to use, without them becoming blurry???

    You can’t.

Pixelized images (like .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp) can not be resized and *gain* information, despite what you see on TV. You can’t take a pixel image with a tiny license plate, zoom in, and see the letters, crystal clear. Not possible. In the same way, you can’t take a clipart image and expect to blow it up and have a crystal clear image.

The reason this occurs is that your computer has no way to magically know what information should be present when you zoom in or out (make larger) an image. The data, or pixels, that didn’t exist in the original, must be interpolated, and that’s why you get blurry images. An image can only be enlarged about 10% and still be acceptable for printing.

Do be sure that you’re downloading the largest version of my files. These are the gif or jpg images that shows up alone on the page AFTER you click on the thumbnail image or filename below the image. They usually have enough resolution to fit on an 8.5 x 11 inch paper at 72 dpi.

The biggest files I have are online, so I can’t email you a bigger image UNLESS the image is an original one that I created. (My images usually have very crisp, computer drawn lines and do not credit someone else in the text description.)

I can not enlarge the Chris Gunn clipart.

    Hope this helps

BTW, you can probably enlarge the images up to 10% without a noticeable problem.

If the image was NOT created by me — you’ll know, because the clipart description will credit the creator in the text description — I can’t resize it.

If you are shrinking images and they are becoming blurry, try using a different program to change the size.

For example, Microsoft Word and WordPerfect are not always very good at changing the sizes of pictures. But graphics programs, like Publisher, Draw, Photoshop, Photo Soap, etc. are.
