With a Primary of 120 children, reverence is always an issue we want to address without making it our prime focus. Any “fun” ways you use? We have used small “Reverence tickets” which teachers give out after the closing prayer to children who’ve been reverent during entire Primary. The child then passes a member of the presidency holding a decorative container near a universally used exit and congratulates , pats, etc. each child as they drop their ticket in. We also have the “rule” that any member of the presidency may raise their arm (with hand wide open) during sharing time. when there is a need for a reminder of reverence needed. As each child or teacher sees this signal they also raise their arms….when leader thinks they are in accord, she closes hand into a fist to indicate “closing our mouths” and then she does a “thumbs up” to indicate they are great at cooperating. We sometimes need to do this even during singing time, and when leader sees what is going on, she may continue talking, or stop a moment for much appreciated help in keeping attention focused on her. WHAT DO YOU DO ?
