Personal Progress Spotlight- Individual Worth

Once a month (the first Wednesday of every month) our ward YW secretary, Sister McGrath, does a Personal Progress Spotlight for the first 1/2 hour of Mutual. This has been one of the many tools she has used to start sparking interest in Personal Progress among the girls (see the posts under the  Personal Progress label on the right side of this page for more of her ideas).

Our personal progress classroom temple banners fit on four pages or less. I created them to be used at New beginnings or when you are focusing on a particular value during the month; however, you'll find lots of uses for them at camp and other activities, I'm sure. Family Photo Tree

This was created from the inspiration of my father. When I asked him how to get Young Women excited about their own family history and temple work, he told me that we needed to make a poster with pictures of their ancestors. That way they would see them as real people, very similar to themselves.

This is a simple family tree made with scrapbook paper, circle punches, photos (or copies), scissors, and glue sticks. It is really that easy!

YW Temple Value Element - Faith

This is based on the Inspire Logo I created for another project.

I got "inspired" myself and realized that nearly all of the YW values have the letter 'i' in them. Those that don't have letter 'i' were easy to implement, too. I hope it reminds leaders and young women that "as we strive the young women values ... we will be prepared to make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation."
