LDS Object Lesson Idea Submission Form
DO NOT SUBMIT ACTIVITIES HERE!!!!
This submission form is ONLY FOR OBJECT LESSONS!!! An object lesson is
a short, thought-provoking lesson that uses an every day object to teach a gospel principle.
Object lessons are usually used as attention-getters at the beginning or end of a lesson.
WANT ACTIVITIES? You're in the wrong place!
Please submit activity ideas here or check out the activities database. If you're hunting for object lessons, check out the LDS object lesson list.
Object lesson Submission Instructions
As far as I know, mine is the ONLY FREE OBJECT LESSON LIBRARY online! Please help it grow by entering information about your successful LDS object lesson below for others to use as a reference when planning their lessons!
I love it when object lessons use scripture references, so if you use a scripture, please either include the text of the scripture, or link to the text at http://scriptures.lds.org/.
DO NOT SUBMIT THE UNWRAPPED, BEAT UP
CANDY / OPENED FLOWER PETAL FORNICATION OBJECT LESSON. It will be deleted. I believe that object lesson is
flawed because it teaches that people who commit sins are worthless and that those who commit
sexual sins will be "unwanted" by good people. The object lesson also leaves no
room for a discussion on repentance, and in fact, loses its shock factor when repentance
is discussed, leaving no escape for those in the class who may have already committed
sexual sins. Additionally, the lesson implies that those who have been sexually assaulted or abused
are also "unwanted". Because of these flaws, I don't allow that object lesson in this database.
Just so you know, I almost never reject object lessons, but the nasty candy/flower petal one will always be deleted.
