Feather Scripture Mastery

By Lolly Preston Lyman Lolly Preston Lyman: So earlier this week we played a fun scripture mastery game that had the kids blood pumping. I posted “feathers in the hallways through out the building and a runner from two different teams ran to find the correct feather after their team found the scripture. The winner had to “gobble gobble” all the way back. It was hilariously fun and funny. Today…

D&C 49-56

I followed up on our challenge to introduce ourselves to new move-ins and seek to welcome them to our ward at the beginning of class.  No stories to share, but I’ll follow up again later. Last week we did not get to the gifts of the spirit in D&C 46, and since a student mentioned it was some of her favorite scripture, I asked her to do a 15 minute…

Make Butter

By Shauna Hostetler Shauna Hostetler: #DandC46 Spiritual gifts. I am using the idea shared here to make butter. Each person will have a small empty glass jar that represents them. I will pour the cream in to represent gifts given. If we want to know what our gifts are…we need to ask…then use them. Shaking the cream and turning it in to butter represents using our gifts and turning them…

Different children sang solos and all together sounded like a symphony. Worked so well after using the puzzle pieces that the…

Gratitude Activities

1. Learn the songs “Thank Thee, Father,” “I Love to Pray,” and “Can a Little Child Like Me?” (Children’s Songbook, pp. 24, 25, and 9 respectively). Have the children name the blessings they are thankful for that are mentioned in the songs. Write the blessings on separate cards. Pass a card (or cards) to each class and have the children draw pictures of each blessing. Then sing the songs again…
